Are you looking for a drag strip or a road course? Unfortunately, they stopped running street drags at Pamona and Riverside Raceway was torn up 20 years ago. But there are still plenty of options. There is drag racing and road racing at California Speedway, drag racing at Carlsbad, and road racing at Willow Springs and Buttonwillow. They are a bit of a drive, but well worth it. There are also plenty of autocross events near you, California Speedway, San Bernadino, and San Diego.

I'm going to a track event at Buttonwillow in June for Dub Wars www.dubwars.com and I autocross every month with CSCC www.solo2.com PM me if you have any more questions.

Moving to Western Region, in case some of the drag racers have some links to strips in your area.

Oh, I forgot to mention the organizations that host open track events. The tracks themselves don't sanction the events, so here's the organizations that host them. Most of them don't require membership either.

Do I just have to show my driver's license and that's it? Or what do I have to consider?

Driver's license and the car has to pass a tech inspection (wheels on securely, brake works, battery secured, etc.) then pay the entry fee, sign the waiver and that's usually it. JUst check any of those links for details.

I always forget one organization. Last time I forgot speedventures, now I forgot digital racer. Well, they're both in my favorites now. I plan on getting to Streets of Willow this year one way or another!
