Las Vegas gas

Another moving question. I'm almost 100% sure you can only get 91 oct gas at most pumps? What about a select few gas stations, do any of them carry a higher oct fuel?

76 carries 100 octane, but everywhere else is **** poor 91. I miss the east coast and filling up on 94.

Yup, you can get 100 octane at many Rebel 76 stations in Vegas. I always mix 3 gall/100 to 91 and fill it. It rides soo smooth with the blend over straight 91. 100 costs $3.95 vs. $2.39 or so for 91. The 100 is called race gas and is unleaded.

I see your dynoflashed. What kind of tune did you get (oct gas)? This is what sucks, I have to be reflashed since I'm moving from 93 to 91 oct.

I have the 91 map. Yes, have Al retune you down to 91 to be safe. He has done many 91 maps on his many trips to Cal. and has it pretty much perfect. Have it done before you hit the road. There are places such as north Texas that only has 90 octane.

Good to know thanks. If I have some extra cash and room I may just bring along some 93 oct to get me there and then get reflashed.

You can buy gallon containers of Toulene (sp)? That's what many are using. Mix that with 91 on the road. But it will be fine.

Close, Toluene.

That stuff is 114 octane. One gallon of Toluene mixed with 13 gallons of 91 octane will yield 92.64 octane. ((91 x 13) + (114 x 1)) / 14 = 92.64

From what I've heard, it is $4 to $5 per gallon at any paint store.

I have yet to try it in my car, as I'm currently fighting off the P0300 code.

Can anyone give me directions to one of these 100 oct gas stations? I would be coming from 95 south (Henderson area). Or just give me a street. That would also help. Thanks in advance.

http://www.76.com

I don't know exactly how many in town carry 100, but I know Sahara and Durango (the Lakes area) has it. Look at the station locations on the site and maybe call up the one closest to you and ask or ask them for the closest one to you. I don't know what happened to their site. It used to give the locations with race gas.

Thanks for the info. Last night I was getting onto the 95 south and I noticed a gas station had 92 oct. I think it was a 76, but I'm not sure.

That's probably an old sticker. I saw a 92 sticker at an Exxon station a few months ago. I asked, but it was only 91.

91 is the highest pump gas sold here in the west except for race gas. The real problem is the heat killing our performance. Wait till mid October. The car wakes up from hibernation and you're good right through mid May.

Drive up to Mt. Charleston one morning. It's in the 60s right now at night and early morning.
