I'll know more when I take motor out and take it apart. I did have some I thought phantom knock part throttle between 2800 & 3400 rpms. I was trying to also get boost down but the ecu controlled was being weird..kept bringing wgdc's down but boost still stayed high. Could've been the main bearing go bad? The crank could've broke in half from what it looks like. I'm sure piston is most likely exploded. We'll see if heads ok. Could've been the day at Adams the demise of my motor when the timing was all off and we started it for a sec? There's lots of things it could possibly be, I did have lower compression in one cycl. The motor was a stock drop in, purchased from awd with said 25k miles on it...now how what ever miles were on the car and how hard they were? There was some ngk bpr8es plugs in the head and looks of maybe some cams yanked out. **** who knows, with winter coming up I'll prob not want to drive the evo so I'll be patience with build

tough break man. You should go with AMS 2.3
I-15 south to 10600s turn right (West) go through the first light, at the second light (River Front Parkway) turn left (South) follow the road to the second turn about and the park is on your right hand side.

**** I'm not seeing any bottom ends around for sale to build 
2.3 isn't bullet proof
My friend Steve just had a 2.3 go on him saturday and I've got a evo 8 so no mivec and that's the head/ecu I'd have to get and tap a oil line like DIDYSIS did for his ix 2.3 8 shortblock
It would be interesting to see exactly what happened inside so I want to tear it out too. I'm thinking if I get around to it would be in a week or two when I'm moved in my cuz house

could've been the 33-34psi turbo was spiking to and holding 27-28psi in the high rpms. 80mph @ 3000rpms all you have to do is tap the gas and the damn thing spools out...I've been fighting ecu controlled boost for weeks trying to get boost settled back down. I had my meth injection spray turned up a lil and I wouldn't get on the car too much, when I saw boost hit high I'd let off gas, I was trying to turn it down but even at 30% WGDC it was still hitting 32-33psi. I've only got a green on think what a 35r would've done
