Canon EOS 10D! Then you can buy a waterproof case for it. Pictureline in SLC sells the full Canon line. But they are $$$. Get a full SLR camera though. SLR is a legit camera with removable lenses and manual control of shutter speed, aperture, focus method etc. Don't get a point and shoot.

I don't really want to spend more than $1000, but I want something that is going to last, and not be out dated next week. I know nothing of photography, but it has always intrigued me, and I'd like to learn more about it. My wife has this new obsession with scuba diving, so I thought that underwater would be a good place to experiment.Thanks again for your input, it is much appreciated!!!

Lets just say this weekends midnight drags were not very good to me. My best time was a 14.1
It was on a blind tune and i suck at driving
