I am trying to start organizing the Alpine trip for September. Due to popular demand it wil most likely (read: definately) be a two day ordeal (Sat-Sun). I'm thinking of the 11-12 of September but it will be based around others' schedules. The plan is to leave Tucson ~11:00am and head up to Safford (route not decided yet but I-10 is an option). From there we will take 191 to Alpine and stay there over night. I believe there is a motel/hotel nearby but I heard others talking about just camping out. In the morning we will head back to Safford via HW 180 and 78, then back to Tucson. I highly recommend you bring along a freind to share the driving chores as it is a long trip. Please feel free to post your ideas/criticism because this trip is a ways away and I want everyone to enjoy it. More to come...

Ray, I am in Minnesota for two weeks so you won't see me for awhile. As long as it's before midnight they can't do anything. Just go buy a small drink and sit on the patio.

This drive sounds like a blast. I'll talk to the wife and see what she says about me going. She's still pissed at the $1,000 I spent on mods last month. lol

 

Tell her you need to get some of your moneys worth out of the new mods.

 

lol, good idea. Except there's not much money left after buying mods, a big screen TV and new living room funiture.
