I have had 6 tickets in the last 3 years... most of which were complete BS, turning right at an intersection with a time restriciton to do so, speeding 35 in a 25, rolling right throw a stop sign, driving with no head lights, 2 no seat belts, 92 in a 65 in virginia, 83 in a 65 in virginia... some how not one point has ever should up on my liscence becuase luckily these were all out of state. Although i paid $900 dollras for the first reckless in virginia and 250 for the second with traffic school.
The best status to be in is in limbo.. sort of like when our a student away from home, if you can, have your car registered in another state, out of state insurance ( you can pay online, and out of state liscense) you need to check your state regulations but there are loop holes to do this.

Hey guys thanks maybe now i wont have to get rid of the evo and buy a scion xb, my insurance is going to go sky high but i have gieko and i am a full time student, My insurance dropped significantly the day i turned 19 and had a clean record, lets just say this year sucked *****. But the information is greatly apreciated keep it coming, never could have too much knowledge about the GREAT judicial system.
Man, VIII I f'n feel your pain. I got me a criminal speeding ticket driving home in Avondale. I work the swing shift and get off at 12 a.m. so assumingly I'm tired and I want to get home and go to sleep. I'm cruising up Indian School Rd. because I live in Goodyear and I was driving about 55 mph, which is 10 mph above the speed limit, but definitely not criminal speeding. Anyway, this zealous sheriff gets behind me and pulls me over. I know I'm speeding and when I'm busted I don't complain. I knew it was going to be a long night because when I pulled over to the side of the street I lodged my car over the curb and it made the most sickliest sound. When the cop came up to my door I asked him if I could move my car, but he politely declined the offer. First off, the bastard asked me if the Evo was my car, and that question ALWAYS throws me off the deep end. Doesn't he know that if it wasn't my car I wouldn't have pulled over for his sorry ***?!! He then asks me if I knew the speed limit, and I tell him it's 45mph. He then asks me how fast I was I going and I said about 50 or 55 mph. He gives a slight chuckle and said I was going about 80 to 85!!! I asked him where he got some preposterous number and demanded to see the radar gun showing that I was going 85 mph. He said there is no radar gun, at which I promptly asked him how he knew I was going 85mph. He answered slyly that I was pacing you. I replied that I had to take his word that I was doing 85mph because he didn't have the slightest form of proof, to which he remained silent. Now I have to go to court to plead my case to the judge. I can't afford to these points on my record with a baby coming on the way.
Ok, I consider myself an EXPERT on this subject. I've had just about any combination of multiple violations at one time possible. I also happen to live in your state, Arizona.
I Pay $512/month on a 2002 OZ Rally 5-spd. I'm 23yrs old.
I have....
-DUI
-Wreckless Driving
-Aggressive Driving
-Failure to stop for police vehicles
-Excessive speed
-Criminal speed
Now, as I said before, I drive a N/A 2.0L 4door 4cyl OZ Rally.... and I pay $512/month. My previous car was much closer to an Evo in insurance grouping than the OZ... a 2001 Camaro SS w/ 440whp.... my insurance quote on that car, with my current record was $808/month.
I'd say, take that $808/month they quoted me on my SS, and subtract about 1/2.. you're probably looking at around $400/month insurance on an Evo.
Here is a scan of my current insurance policy. $512/month.... AZ insurance sucks.

Jason. Thats your insurance companies way of saying, "please go find another insurance carrier" Eventhough you have a horrid driving record, have you tried getting a policy through someone else? I am sure you could save a hundred or two if you searched closely....it's probably worth looking....

Secret Chimp: Oh yeah, definitely. This insurance carrier is Titan, and they will insure ANYBODY. The guy even told me they will insure mexican drivers who work in the U.S. for employers, but who live in Mexico. I spent about 3 days gathering quotes, and Titan was the lowest, but it's almost no coverage. It's the lowest "full" coverage you can buy in AZ. 10k,15k,30k. Very low limits. I live in an area where it's common to be at a stop light with a Bentley next to you and a 360 Mondena across the intersection.... so if I hit one of those, god forbid, I'm 0wned.
Here is another quote I got from a better company with better coverage. Progressive Auto Insurance.... $758/month! (and this is on the OZ Rally also)

P.S. I do have the name/number of a contact at another insurance company that has really good plans for people with blemished records. PM me if you want the info.
P.S.S Honest to god, I really hope at least one person learns from my mistakes. When your record goes bad, it all catches up at once on you... and you loose a lot. Please drive safe, I'd hate to see an Evo sold from these forums.

not true.
the great state of Oklahoma is an independant state when it comes to Driving records, or ANY Records except of course, the major crap, like a feloney (or whatever) and above
i know this is fact because i was just recently ticketed in OK and didnt go to jail. Why would i go to jail you ask? I have 4 or 5 traffic warrants out in TX. (its a long story, lol)
I'm actually moving to OK here in a few weeks i think, that is, if i cant ship my car and my *** along with it to St. Lucia
i hate to be a post *****, but i look at everybody elses driving records (that are so kind to share with us) and i think, damn... thats messed up! i am insured with farmers insurance and i pay about 180 a mo.
but really i think Texas looks at speeding differently. If not i'm sure my license would have been suspended by now. But think, all i have is speeding. Look at some of these others, they have DUI and all that kinds of stuff, i would expect a higher bill on insurance in general if that were on my record.
Its just interesting though, how 50 speeding tickets doesnt add up to a DUI and whatever else that dude had... damn i feel lucky... very lucky

I lived in AZ for three years! I got a few (3) Criminal speeding tickets in the span of two years. After that for my last year in AZ I got pulled over a total of 8 times, and NOT ONE TICKET!!!!! Including on the 60 when I was racing this civic, and the lady cop said I was going 115!!! I am dead serious about this. Other times I have been going between 10 and 15 over. I guess this makes up for how I got raped with tickets in Illinois through High School.

The cops don't like it when you take them on a high speed chase, and they have to come find you at your house the next day.

Sometimes things get messed up, databases go down, and warrants go undetected, but these are fairly rare occasions.
Whats really going on is that for traffic/bench/FTA warrants, TX will not put up the money to have your butt shipped from the jail in OK to the courthouse in TX.
I'm interested, however, to hear if the officer who pulled you over in OK (and ran your licence, I'm assuming?) told you that you had outstanding warrants.
To add a little on Lancermarin response to buzntxn. Your TX warrants will not show up to any other law enforcement officer if they are only state wide warrants unless you are stopped by an officer inside TX. So my advice to you buzntxn, dont travel through or stop in TX
.... your warrants must not be entered into the nation computer called NCIC and only entered into the TX system TCIC?
