P2 Update

Well it's been a year since I got my P2. Since then I've added other parts but did not update the flash. So, I went down to Works and asked Tyler to look into my P2 and he told me that it's pretty old version (beta version) and uploaded the newest flash that Pete's been working on (optimized for intake and exhaust). In the future, we might see more boost and other updates as Works is always tweaking the P2.

O.K. Took the car for a test drive and . Now I could feel the car pull even harder. It feels like before the new flash, my car wasn't getting much benefit from intake and exhaust; but now, everything seem to work as it should.

Thanks Tyler and as always Works customer service is top notch.

I got my car over the summer and its an 03'...and the previous owner had already installed a P2. I am very new to this, but i should probably get it re-flashed correct? A flash is just an update to the chip? or what? How hard is it to get re-flashed?

If your P2 is one of the earliest version (when first introduced) and have added intake, exhaust, or other parts, just let Works know what kind of mods you've added since then and they will reflash your ecu with the latest flash appropriate for your set up.
If you live near by, you can just drive by and they will reflash it in 5 minutes, otherwise you'll need to mail your ecu box to them.
I believe if you are not the original owner of the P2, you might have to pay a small service fee (but worth it for the better tune).

Susp3nc3- Is your EVO silver and did you get it from San Rafael Mitsubishi? If you did, just want to let you know that that was my EVO. Your avatar says Mill Valley so I figure it might be.

Just give Works a call and ask them to check your car's file.

Susp3nc3- Yeah, please take care of it but also enjoy it. Hope to come across you sometime as I have an MR now. The Ralliart is gone. Later.

We can check your info in our database and tell you which version you are running. Give WORKS a call and we'll let you know if it would be worthwhile to come in for an "update" or if you should just hold off until the next time you're in for a set of 269 cams

Susp3nc3- Well, I only have a 200+ miles on it right now. Can't wait to break it in and see how much better it is than the 03'. I can feel how the 6spd shorter gear ratio keeps the car more in the powerband range and I do feel a bit more torque than previous EVO. Now I have to check WORKS if they have something on the works for the MR.

nice nice...im not fearing your MR tho... im gonna turn this 03 into a monster. :P Im just trying to reassure myself its ok that i didn't wait for the MR to come out. Even tho that GREY color would be NICE. Maybe you can help me humble myself. I will just tell myself that i cannot afford the MR since its a couple thousand higher. Im just going to throw in some new cams, high flow cat, IP, and throttle body for now. That should atleast let me beat a stock MR with my Axle back, downpipe and then reflashed P2. But anyway! it will be ok...because its all about the driver, not the car. Anyway, where abouts in Marin do you live Evo33? Im currently in school in Stockton, but if i see you in your MR around Marin we can race! ...and if you win i will have to steal my dads car for my secret weapon. Have a nice day!
