More P2 questions sorry...

Works,

Some general questions if I may.

Will the P2 re-flash adapt to a Ralliart drop in filter? Better yet is there any reason to use it over the stock filter? Better yet, as I go with an upgrade path exhaust etc.. does the re-flash simply adapt. Like OBD ll? Or does it need to be reflashed for different level of tunes?

Lastly, What specifically is involved in getting the hardware out, to you and back in the car?

Thanks, Michael

The ecu will compensate for a drop in filter but will not adapt for optimal performance. You need to have ur ecu flashed for that mod.

removing the ecu is very easy, takes about 5 min. Pull the glove box, unplug ecu wire harness, and remove 3 support bolts. Works can email you the specific instructions if need be.

A couple more questions as it relates to the 05 GSR.

1. Is there is a spiking problem or occurence with the P2? And if so, typically
what is the value?

2. Will I experience part throttle boost as a side effect of my P2 upgrade?

My upgrade plans which I will do all at once are as follows:
  1. P2
  2. Throttle Body
  3. Down pipe
  4. Cat back if not the Stealth muffler (most likely AMS). "I hate loud."
TIA

Thanks Compjoc-

It really seems like a wonderful feature that the P2 flash just works right along with stock tuning. I have had many cars with mods and it's a tiresome game of chasing and wondering if you are making more HP after certain mods...

We have a few customers using the Ralliart and other drop-in replacements with their P2. The MAS will be able to detect any change in air flow and the ECU will still be able to make the proper adjustments. The Brain Flash does not take away from the ECU's dynamic ability. Significant changes in air flow may warrant a reflash, but the filter swap shouldn't.

We can e-mail you step-by-step instructions for ECU removal if you'd like. After that, it's a matter of packaging it and shipping it to us. We'll take care of you from there

FWIW; I dropped in a K&N filter awhile back. No issues with the P2.

1. You may still see a spike in boost with the P2. Generally, we see stock cars vary with the intensity of the spike. The P2 will help stabilize the spike, but may not get rid of it altogether.

2. You won't experience any more part-throttle boost than you would in a non-flashed EVO.

Regarding your mods:

Have you seen our new ABM? Deep tone without being excessively noisy

Jamie

I saw your new ABM, but I haven't heard it. Maybe when you get some "spare time" you can post or direct me to a sound clip. But for the record, I won't like anything too much louder than stock. The only exhaust sound clip that I heard that I liked was the AMS exhaust sound clip put out by Renn Art.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer the questions. Good customer service means a hell of a lot more to me than maximum power gains.

FWIW, I would think drop-in filters would be fine, but cone filters really throw things for a loop. My car runs much smoother and stronger with the stock intake box back on.

I tried a Ralliart drop in with stock ecu setting and it ran like crap. I am sure it was super rich.

Jamie...

When you flash the stock ecu for the P2 settings what are the parameters or should I say what map or car set up is it based on? Stock exhaust, airbox, filter etc..... thanks-
