Zeal questions

I am considering getting a set of WORKS/Zeal Function V6's for my EVO. For those of you who have had these on your cars, how many miles do you have on them? How many track days have you done on them? I curious about long they last and how often they'll need to be serviced.

Also, do the rear springs have a coaxial hat like the fronts?

I currently have a set of eibach prokits and a WORKS rear sway bar and want less body roll, especially in slalom like transitions. I also want to get rid of the remaining wheel gap I have up front.

Mark, didn't you end up getting a set of Zeals Function V6's? Maybe you can answer these questions yourself.

haha.. yeah, I can! On a car that's primarily street driven, the struts only need to be serviced every few years.

The Zeal V6's don't have a co-axial hat in the rear. The rear upper mounts don't have a spherical bearing (or pillow-ball) mount either. I guess it's not really necessary.

So how do you like them so far Mark?

They're great! Initial impressions tell me that I have even quicker steering response, along w/ a lot more compliant ride. I haven't really had a chance to push them hard yet. I plan to take my car to an auto-x one of these weekends, so I'll be able to give them a better review then.

That is *exactly* how I felt when I got the Zeals: quicker steering response and a much more compliant ride - and it even passed the wife test, which was very important. Seriously, it was like I had a whole new car that I had to get used to all over again on the twisties. I added a WORKS rear sway bar later to top it off and it was another dramatic change all over again.

While I was getting my Zeals installed at Works, I had one of those I just spent way too much $$$ moments. The minute I hit the first cloverleaf onto the 101, I had no regrets whatsoever. The handling is simply awesome, no more push and the car feels centered and neutral now. I don't think I will ever be able to go back to stock suspension on an Evo.
