Stealth Muffler the same w/ IX

I heard the Exhaust were a little different but, maybe not that much, I want to mod my car a little. or is it a good Idea just to get a full exhaust and just remove it when I want
to visit the dealership? I need A good Mod plan. But, everything has to be easily removed or hidden

muffler shouldn't void any warranties. . .check with your dealer first though. . if you're concerned. . .

There's very little chance that they can detect your "stealth muffler" that's why I have one. They sure won't be able to tell from the sound.

The part number has changed, but the overall shape and all the mounting locations are the same. So, the StealthWORKS Muffler from the VIII should bolt right up without any complications

The Evo IX's muffler doesn't have a flapper valve. In its place is a fixed, contoured baffle to direct the exhaust gases to the first tube. The baffle is perforated to bleed some of the exhaust flow through to the center tube. Otherwise, the construction appears to be the same.

Correct. We've got a IX muffler for some R&D and will be exploring the StealthWORKS option with it Our current muffler will bolt up just fine, the internals are the only variation.

Would you say the stock IX muffler is much improved over the VIII with these changes?

Nope, the stock IX muffler is still restrictive, but just uses a different internal mechanism to achieve this.

Are there any gains to be made by just simply switching to Stealthworks muffler, or do you need to purchase the whole system (DP, test pipe, catback)?

Also, will the exhaust sound stock if I were to purchase your resonated IP with the stealthworks muffler for my IX? I see that you don't have the Evo9's listed in which your resonated IP, so I'm just wondering if it will work. Thanks.

I can tell you even with the DP, Non resonated IP, HFC and the stealthworks muffler, it sounds like stock but deeper and barely louder. Not even to the point the dealer will be able to tell.

There are gains by just going with the StealthWORKS. The rest of the Exhale lineup just enhances it. As mentioned, sound is virtually unchanged--just fractionally deeper at idle with a wee bit more volume under full throttle (almost imperceptable). We've put a number of our IPs on EVO IXs with no trouble (even fits perfectly with the added driveshaft heat shield). The only "issue" is the O2 sensor bung. It would need to be plugged since the IX sensor is located at the cat now. We can provide you with a plug as well if you decide to go that route.

The norcalevo exhaust study put the evo VIII stock exhaust at 85db. The stealth works muffler with a test pipe, DP and IP was only 90db. That's extremely quiet for a full exhaust. A high flow cat should be even closer to stock noise levels.

Here's the link.
