Thumbs up for the Works Drop In Air Filter...

Just wanted to say, the Works drop in air filter is a pretty nice product. I didn't think I'd feel a horsepower increase, but honestly I did. Not major, but wasn't expecting a major increase from a drop in air filter, no dyno numbers, just my butt dyno. But the butt dyno feels the power increase.

Same here. 1st, 2nd gear urgency was the most noticible trait on the 1st day.

I would like one but I live up here in the desert with alot of dust and sand storms....I don't want to take any chances sucking up some stuff into my engine.

Yea I understand what a drop in filter is, but there has to be some reason it's giving power gains, and what other reason could that be then that it's letting a larger volume of air pass. Im just worried that the way that is accomplished might let more particles through. If it works as good as stock Im on board...but Im just a little skeptical.

I've been running this filter for about 15,000 miles now. I just checked it a couple of weeks ago and everything is fine. The airbox underneath the filter was squeaky clean. Granted, Orange County isn't as dusty as Barstow. With dustier conditions you'll probably end up cleaning the filter more often.

The filter element is made using a fabric (vs. gauze or foam) to provide consistency in the size of particles captured during the filtration process. WORKS uses a light oil to further improve the filtering capability.

The WORKS filter has a larger surface area:

Very nice filter, as is all my parts from works! If you intend to go with the Works filter Id say for a few bucks more you can get the cleaning and oiling kit.

I too have the Works drop in filter. When i went to get flashed from another tuner, he was skeptical of the Works DIF. So, we ran a little test. On my VIII with cams, 3in tbe, 10.5 HS, EBC, and fuel pump, the Works DIF picked up 9 whp and 11 ftlbs over the stock crappy filter.

Good product Works
