Hey Derek,
I can't answer your question off the top of my head, but let me talk to one of the techs and I'll try and get you an answer ASAP.
Also feel free to call us. There is usually someone in who can answer these types of questions.
thanks

Derek,
I spoke with one of our tech guys. He said the spring that's in there is the best one. "WORKS did the R&D for GFB on the EVO with different
springs, etc... and the one that's in there is near perfect.
Occasionally, there are some temperamental cars, but not with
surge--more to do with (partially) venting to the atmosphere".

Are you running a stock turbo? If not which model are you running?

Mine works perfect with my 272's. Did you set it to Works specified spring adjustment? I can't remember exacty, but I think it's 2 and half turns from the softest setting. I have the Black FX, and it said if your vacuum in less than 16 (which mine is at 13-15), than you would need to order another spring from GFB. I didn't need one , but you may. Hope this helps if any. PM me if you need the settings, I can get them tomorrow.

That is not what they recommend. Here is what they say for the Evo:

WWW (WORKS Word to the Wise): Be careful not to change the WORKS settings shile installing the Dual Vent Valve. WORKS recommends 2 complete turns from full soft (-) on the spring (top) adjust and 6 clicks from fully closed (quiet) on the vent adjusting ring. also, to ensure long term reliability the GFB unit is packed with grease and when the unit heat cycles, it may expel some which is normal.

Hope this helps. I thing your spring is too soft. Try this setting and see what happens.
