Finally getting cams

Well, I have my appointment booked to get my cams put in and reflashed... I will let you all know how it goes.
Anybody want to give me a ride from the shop?? LOL! jk.

I'm getting the Cosworth Evo IX cams put in, throttle body, fuel pump, and springs/retainers. I'll try to get some video if I can find my camera charger and a reliable person to hold the camera steady... Good luck

The specs on the GSC S1's are

Intake 268 Duration, 10.98mm peak lift
Exhaust 266 Duration, 10.30mm Peak Lift

And the Cozzies are

Intake 272 degrees Duration, 11.0mm peak lift
Exhaust 272 degrees Duration, 11.0mm peak lift

Believe me... It was a hard toss up between the 2. I finally decided on going with the bigger Cosworth cams because they will work well if I decide to go up to a GT35R. The S1's would work, but I wouldn't benefit as much as I would with the larger Cosworth cams, or even upgrading to the S2's. I've seen some guys on the stock turbo get the S2 and just didn't like it until they went big turbo. So that's what helped my decision.

Cool. I'm getting the TR-340/360 power pack (minus flash + dyno tune) with SS-1 suspension pack. Finally bit the bullet (actually my wife bit it for me- I love her). Can't wait. Let us know how it goes.

When are you heading over there to get it done? I'll be there on Monday the 4th, so I think I'm going to be tying them up for the whole day.

I'm going to pick up the self-installed items on Saturday (5-02-07) and will be back for cams, springs and retainers, and cosworth studs install and dyno tune on the 15th so you can have them Monday . Are you doing springs and retainers and new head studs too?

Well, just got back from there yesterday and man I hate driving down to the bay area. I hate the traffic down there, but love all the cool cars ( Everyone seems to believe driving a Porsche is the thing- I don't disagree). I especially hate tolls and even more now that they have jacked up the price from last I went (which I admit was a while ago).
BTW- just got done installing my WORKS downpipe and catback and can't help but notice that the exhaust tip is slanted to curve with the bumper from left to right. Or did I just get a mistake?

No, you did not get a mistake muffler. The tip was designed to curve/flows with the curve of the bumper.

I am interested to know what mods you have done so far before getting the cams. I am stage 1 and looking for the best bang for buck mod. I know it will be cams. Are you running an aftermarket intercooler w/ pipes? Fuel pump? Intake or stock box w/ drop-in? Thanks

Okay, that's cool. But is it also supposed to sit really really close to the passenger side of the bumper coming to within thin-hair thickness of touching?
Oh- and O/T but the APR rear diffuser does not fit very well and was a pain to manuever around when trying to take off and install the muffler. Woulda, coulda, shoulda taken it off but then I woulda woulda left it off and then the wife woulda given me cow-pies for it. Knew I shoulda coulda wish I woulda gotten the JDM bumper instead...

I'm not exactly sure what "stage 1" is. You gotta talk to me in specifics and tell me exactly what you have. i.e. brand, specs, etc.

Mods are as follows:

2006 Evo IX
WORKS 76mm downpipe, thermal coated
WORKS 76mm intermediate pipe
WORKS 76mm Axle Back muffler
WORKS Adjustable Rear Sway bar
WORKS Rear trailing arm bushing
WORKS Throw Short Shifter
WORKS Shifter bushings
WORKS Croxx Plate II
WORKS Brainflash P2R, 5500rpm launch control, 91octane
AMS Small battery kit
AMS Evo FMIC
AMS UICP
AMS LICP
TiAL BOV
Vibrant 3" fipk
On watered down 91 octane, it made 309.4awhp @ 23.04psi on a dynapack dyno.

New stuff that I got with the cams:
WORKS Aperture Throttle Body
WORKS Single Springs and Retainers (didn't go dual, because when am I going to rev to 9krpm on the street?)
ARP Head studs
Cosworth Evo IX MIVEC 272 cams, 11mm lift
Walbro 255hp Fuel Pump
No dyno numbers or track times yet.

Ask Kirk because I told him this earlier after he warned me... I felt like the biggest idiot alive while breaking in the cams. haha. You have to slowly increase rpm's by 1000rpm after 20min of driving all the way to 7000rpm.
