WORKS 2008 Evolution X Product Availability

We're still working our way through the chassis, but the first confirmed fitment is the WORKS High-Flow Drop-In Air Filter. (Note this is not the one from the previous generation EVO IV through IX, but it offers all of the same great advantages.) Keep an eye on both this forum and our webstore for the growing list of products: http://www.worksevo.com/store/index.php?cPath=32

I assume this works on the naturally aspirated 4B11 as well...

Jamie, where are you guys at in relation to AMS on the X. I was checking their well documented thread on the power they are making and it seems WORKS is behind the curve based on keeping this X thread updated.

Would love to see more information on where you guys are at with an exhaust and ECU information.

Thanks.

I share what info I can get away from the Engineers. They've been hard at work testing/developing several items (Exhale exhaust components, Brain Flash software--ECU and possibly SST, Suspension, Drivetrain, etc...). Some progress faster than others, but a full lineup of parts will be available.

The WORKS Air Filter is showing impressive gains. I was pleasantly surprised with the peak numbers and was amazed with what happened further up the power bands

We've noticed that the EVO X does exhibit a little bit of a "hiccup" near 7,000 RPMs in stock trim. This was repeatable on dyno as well. Once the air filter was installed, it no longer had a tendancy to occur. We swapped the fillters back and forth to confirm and the WORKS filter does smooth things out. Air fuel ratios also came up, but are still definitively rich. While boost still tapers, it did hold a little better in the mid-to-high RPM range.

We can't wait to get the Brain Flash available to tune things properly

Also, the StealthWORKS muffler saw some dyno time over the weekend:

Overall, performance was good. We're looking at gains throughout the powerband with little change in sound levels. (I'll be the first to admit that I'm not as intimate with the sound of the X as I am with my VIII, though.)

Availability is somewhat limited at the moment, but we're in the process of acquiring a few more cores to limit any delays.

Add the two together and we get some very impressive returns on a minimal investment. We retain a much smoother decent in the boost curve and both HP/TQ (and AFR) become more favorable:

Looking forward to investing in one of these drop-in filters.

I added the Works filter this week and while I haven't dynoed it, I have noticed an average increase in miles per gallon of 1.5 (Which makes it worth the cost of entry). I also enjoy the slightly more audible turbo sound from the filter.

I'm looking forward to your reflashes; I'd like to add some power that still will be reliable for track days and driver's education events.
