WORKS Dyno Day In Your Area?
I have been contacted on a number of occasions with inquiries about what it takes to set up a WORKS dyno day. WORKS is open to hosting dyno days in other parts of the country. Currently, we have dyno days scheduled in both the Midwest (St. Louis, MO on Saturday, Nov. 1st) and Northern California (Fremont, CA on Saturday, Nov. 15th).
In order to have WORKS fly out to do on-site Brain Flashes and Demo Drives, we require the following:
(1) Access to an AWD Dyno
(2) 10 or more committed buyers for a Brain Flash product
(3) A local organizer to assist with logistics planning
(4) At least 1-2 local Evo enthusiasts capable of wrenching on cars to assist with installs on site.
The Dyno Day Discount structure is as follows:
10+ people committed to purchasing the Works Brain Flash P1 or P2): We will offer a 15% discount on the Brain Flash and 10% discount on all other parts.
If anyone is interested in getting a dyno day started, please contact me: (415) 641-WORKS(9675) or by email at DavidV@WORKSRALLY.com to coordinate an event.

The way this works is that we upload the Brain Flash program into your ECU (unlike some other vendors, we don't even need to pull your ECU out to do this -- we are able to upload the new data with the ECU still in the car) and then send you on your way. This gives the owner the chance to drive around for an hour or two and really feel how the car responds both before and after. If the owner decides to keep the flash or upgrade to P2, we are more than happy to have them do so. Otherwise, we can flash his/her car back to stock with no questions asked and no obligation.

Would people be able to make it after, say, 5 pm during a weekday? We would need 10 Brain Flash customers minimum in order to come out.

Our Evo had the P1 installed in a parking lot with the WORKS shop car as a power source and it took less time to do than it took me to fill out the information on the work order. A large crowd of Subaru enthusiasts (good guys all) gathered around checking out the cars and asking questions. Gavin was in and out of the car and the rest of us were all around both cars with no problems during the process.

In terms of numbers, at least 5 cars meeting at the SEMA show would be workable.

With SEMA right around the corner, it would be helpful to know if there is enough interest to have us organize a small get-together to provide Brain Flashes (including the P2) for the folks that will be in town for the show.
The clock is ticking on this, however, so if you are interested please let us know. Otherwise, we'll be pretty busy for most of the show.
