going from a stock vehicle did you feel a change from your butt dyno. or was it more of a subtile change

Honestly - 'butt' dyno is happy. Biggest changes are off the line and above 4000rpms.
1) Off the line - used to let out the clutch and it's kinda delay a bit. Now it's much more responsive, and seems to pick up rpms faster.
2) Above 4k when the boost used to taper off. At first, there was an exilerating rush, and it'd kinda end. Now, it seems more stronger and confident in the upper rpm's.

Also - it tends to break the tires loose now around corners! The same corners I always used to drive too. Obviously, I'm kinda trying to do this...but that is a new addition! (still got the Yokos on).

All you guys were running 93 Octane gas? Just making an assumption that those of us in California can expect lower numbers with similar mods...or not?

I think all but one of us were running 93.

The AXIS guys recommended to me to buy my 93 octane gas at QT. It's a gas station chain in the area called QuickTrip.

david, did the p2 help people out more if they had other mods, or is it a set number of hp you recieve. dan had a turbo back and intake, would he gain more from the p2 than say one of the guys who did the p2 on a stock car.

Yeah in St Louis, they have the best/most consistent gas. Amoco/BP has some of the worst.

I'm the guy who was having trouble with the P2 and running rich. David told me it was probably with RMR intake i had causing the trouble. Sure enough, when i got home and put the stock airbox back in, the car pulled real hard to 7800rpm. Hell, i wasn't disappointed with the P2 before i got the airbox back in. It saved me 1/2 tank of gas on the way home with the new low end power. Also, I had the 91 octane reflash because Kansas City gas sux.

Big thanks to David for investigating the culprit of the richness. He probably racked up ~$20 in long distance phone charges calling his engineer back in Cali to find the problem.

WORKS RULES!!

Compjoc -

We had problems with the RMR intake as well and removed it prior to installing the P1 and Aperture. The car ran way too rich, especially at high altitude.

Sorry to hear about the pain it caused you guys during tuning but I was afraid of similar results happening to us if we continued to use it after the P1. I am happy to hear that you guys pinpointed it though; I didn’t have a dyno to test on and was relying on road testing only (but came to a similar conclusion).

The surface area of the RMR intake filter is way oversized for a stock motor, turbo combination. The car runs way better with the WORKS additions and the stock air box back in place. Like you our gas mileage has gone way up averaging 26 mpg on the open road. I need to check the fill-up to fuel light mileage next, we’re goin’ way further on a tank of gas than we did with the RMR intake or even stock configuration for that matter.

Rick
