Stealth Muffler Question

Hello-

I saw on your website of a 10 hp gain with your "stealth muffler". What mods were done to the car when this power test was conducted? P2, stock?

I curently have 264 cams & a flash & am looking to quiet my car down some & I dont mind giving up some hp for gaining some cabin comfort to the ears!

I am interested in a quieter muffler & would like to get as much info as possible before I sell my current 3" exhaust & revert back.

Thanks in advance

The EVO we tested this with had our WORKS TR340 Package which consists of:
-WORKS Brain Flash P2
-WORKS Aperture Throttle Body
-WORKS 269 Power Cams
-WORKS Ceramic coated Downpipe
-WORKS Intermediate Pipe 76mm resonated
-WORKS Axle Back no Anti Reversion Cone
then swapped with
-WORKS Stealthworks which lost just 2-3HP consistently compared to Exhale AB

Hope this helps.

Thanks! Thats exactly what I was looking for.

Any sound clips? Is the norcalevo.net skunk mod muffler soundclip similar or the same as your stealth muffler?

Sure is. That was their test version, SkunkWORKS aka StealthWORKS is the same thing - ninja style exhaust.

That test was with an EVO running a test pipe, 70mm non-resonated IP, and a Stealthworks prototype with the flapper door positioned at a slightly different angle than the current production units.
The production Stealthworks sounds a little deeper and more sporty than Stock but barely any louder. The can's shear volume helps keep it quiet. It's a nice upgrade for the "modest person."

Is the brushed tip AB any less lounder than the polished tip AB? Also, what about the AB with the ARC vs the StealthWorks? I am also looking into reducing the sound of the exhaust. I currently have the Polished tip AB, IP (70mm NR), DP. Trying very hard to find ways to reduce exhaust noise because I feel it is way to loud now.

Thanks!

The Limited Edition brushed tip is the same as the polished tip in terms of db.

The AB with the ARC is comparable to the Stealthworks but the Stealthworks is a little quieter and can't ever be "opened up."

Since you are running a non-resonated IP, your best bet would be to get a resonated IP and add the ARC if you want it very quiet.

I am now thinking of the StealthWorks since an AB with the ARC results in the roughly the same power loss. Although I would love to get the resonated IP, I can't justify spending another $450 for another IP since I already bought the NR IP.

I am planning on adding on the WORKS Aperture and the Power Cams. In addition, instead of the AB, I will go with the StealthWorks. That will pretty much complete my setup and make it similar to your Stage 2.
