it depends on which device you use. I use andoroid phone., so i researched some bluetooth adapters. but elm327 adapters are pretty much the same in functionality. just make sure if sellers has good return policy. because these adapters are sort of hit-or-miss gamble especially on ebay.

If you want the best and fastest one, choose obdlink mx. it use a different chip than elm327. that makes it have better functionality.

Holy crap!! The Obdlink mx is as expensive as the PLX Kiwi. I kinda started this as a low cost, If you really get into it and want one of those, then by all means get that version.

Check out that link, I order a lot of stuff from Amazon. I never had any issues with returns. As was said above, they seem to be hit or miss. I have only had 2 of these (One mysteriously died) but I always had them work. A friend at work had to buy 3 before one worked, they apparently kept arriving broken.

Well what are you planning on doing with it? For me I kinda just used it to check codes and just keep an eye on certain sensors. If you need real time information I'm sure a cabled version would work better. With the Bluetooth there is a slight delay in information, I would say half a second or a little less delay.
