AWD Service Required light on in the Summer, Off in Cold weather
My light has been coming on and off for the last couple of months and took it in for service but then having to reschedule because their scanner didn't work in my car (That did not make sense to me).
Anyway It has been coming on after around 5 minutes from cold start and instantly came on when it was hot outside. I would hear the pump before it cutout with the light appearing. Now since the weather is cold, the light has not came on and the AWD is working fine.
Anyone else have experience with this situation? I know the service light is common, but the whole working in the cold is kinda strange.

Mines pretty much the same, my pump seems like it's on its last legs during summer and the awc light blinks constantly. Ever since the fall/winter seasons started I've barely seen it besides if I start the car and don't let it warm up enough before driving (fluids probbaly to thick to pump).
Someone feel free to correct me but I think it has something to do with the pump overheating, and due to the lower ambient temperature the pump takes a little longer before getting to a high enough temperature for thermal shut off to occur.

Is it the pump itself that's going out? The light came back on yesterday without seeing it for almost a week. I just would like for the light to be on when I take it back in to be inspected.

for the service light to be coming on repeatedly your pump is nearly dead or is dead. Bringing it to the dealership with the light on is your best bet for when they run their test on it if your looking to get it replaced or have warranty
