some people also do this to combat knock - for those that don't set all the octane maps the same.

It is very interesting the ethanol fuel allows with timing. Has something to do with the flame propagation stability regarding pressure (beyond the scope of my knowledge), about every ethanol timing map shows 16+º by 6000 RPM.

why is everyone posting map#1,
map#2 is the base map, or are you guys putting both maps the same?
also I agree with 25 or higher boost you need to cut back that timing. seems to much for me.

If you do not set all 3 maps the same, you will not have reliable numbers... the ECU uses a combination of all 3 to get the actual timing used, an no one knows the exact reason for having 3 maps, other than the fact that you need to set them all the same in order to have a repeatable tune

Bring up your map and hold ALT and hit PRTSCN

Now Start > Run > mspaint

Hit CTRL + V to paste it in. Save it as a JPEG. Upload and you're done!

Here is my current winter map ...

EDIT :: 93 oct, IX

Honestly guys, I've wanted a car that shot flames for years so I simply had to do it. It's also a nice intimidation method at the track.

(yes, I know that timing only goes to -10)

It was at 6-7-8 and I was building about 12 psi on the line. It's probably closer to 9.5 or 10 psi with 6-8-8 ... I honestly haven't checked. I changed it last time at the track to reduce wheel spin.

I have played around with something similar. Never had a map sensor to get good data, but it seemed like it held boost between shifts a lil better. Downside is it gets a lil annoying on the ears after awhile! haha

yeah right? not sure if its just New England Dragway's terrible track prep - or maybe my crappy tires? but i don't know how some of you want more boost off the two step - i just spin and spin and spin... my best 60' is 1.8

also TouringBubble: you rule for admitting your a ricer. i find it hard to believe there isn't a little ricer in all of us who drive this car.

I pull low 1.7's feathering 1st, but I've landed a 1.62 when it actually hooked. I've got the benefit of track temps down here, but it's a trade off for the insane humidity.

And it would be silly for me to try to make excuses for that retarded timing on lift off. I didn't do it to hold boost on shifts (I'm using the NLTS mod) ... all it does is shoot flames. And it is AWESOME.
