So, you didn't really find the cause of the weird fluid, or freeway. And you found some worn synchros. Hmm.

If the fluid is still weird with this fresh build, I would take the tcase apart and make sure the front diff is in good shape.

Your whine on the freeway could be tcase or rear diff if it doesn't go away.

Agreed, hoping the diff bearings I replaced will make a difference in high speed whine.

No idea where that color fluid was coming from, I'll run mt90 for the next 2k miles and probably change fluids 3-4 times to see how is going.
