Angry Noisy Rotors!

A few months back I installed new PowerSlot/Stoptech front, slotted rotors along with a brand new Hawk PC pads. Stopping power has been perfectly fine but the problem is that the rotors are incredibly noisy, squeaky! I'm not totally sure whether the noise is caused by the rotors, pads, or both? I had previously used the Hawk HPS pads on the rear stock rotors & they were also so noisy I had to replace them after a while, and that's why I went for the Hawk PCs this time!

I'd appreciate your feedback & recommendations of some better, non-noisy aftermarket rotors.

Heres my short list of things to check. Note: Some noise maybe normal especially w/cold brakes but other loud noises can be a concern

1. Check pads to ensure they are fully seated & mated w/the rotors. Check for ridges or other irregularities
2. Apply brake noise lube to back of pads & pins
3. Check rotors for unusual wear. Resurface if necessary
4. Ensure OEM pad shims are used front and back
5. Ensure calipers seals are not leaking

Over time my hawk pads get noisy. I clean the rotors with brake cleaner and the noise goes away for a while

IIRC Hawk pads are notoriously noisy.

Good points guys, especially the shims & lube, thanks MinusPrevious. Usually the noise gets worst as the brakes go hotter!
Now, I'm under the impression that Hawk pads are indeed noisy. I'm going to try a Ferodo set.
