power loss with stock cat

I'm looking to replace my test pipe with the stock cat, due to how loud my buschur exhaust is. Two questions, will the stock cat significantly quiet my exhaust? and 2, how detrimental will the power loss be?? Also I am debating a high flow cat but, how much will a high flow quiet my exhaust? I really need the car to be as quiet as possible using this cat back exhaust.

I think it would be easier to replaced the loud exhaust... and keep the test pipe.

I think he meant to get the quiet bushcur can, rather than putting the stock one back there or keeping your bullit.

I had a stock cat on my buschur bullit (which sounds great, but is so f'ing loud btw) and it was significantly quieter than it is with the mil.spec 100 cell high flow cat.... but it was still very loud.

You will surely have power loss with an OEM cat, but probably no more than 10hp if you are under 400WHP.

One consideration: Aftermarket cat-backs are much lighter than the stocker, and the buschur moves the weight closer to the center of the car. Some people say that with the X the bigger improvements are with the front pipes (downpipe / cat) than the cat-back.

------------
In the end, why the EFFFFF is this in the engine management / tuning section?

i don't have the bullet version, I have the quiet version. I was saying that with my stock cat back and the oem cat my factory muffler rattles inside.

Your in the wrong section both tuning and this isn't the VIII/IX section, this is the Evo X section just fyi. The stock cat will kill your spool up and add weight and kill power. I'd just keep the test pipe and sell the bullit catback for their quiet version

Ah okay because your car up until a few seconds ago said 04 evo 8. If you have the quiet buschur and you think it's "loud" you should probably still change exhausts completely to a really quiet setup like the Perrin or similar and continue to keep the test pipe so you don't lose as much power/spool and add weight back with a stock cat. The restrictiveness of a stock cat will seriously inhibit power and probably decrease your spool about 300rpm. You won't be able to quiet it down enough otherwise. The quiet version is way quieter than the Buschur Bullit that we all assumed you had.

Environmentally, no.

Power / weight wise, no.

Most cheaply, possibly.

... but I might be interested in the can from that exhaust if you do

The path I went down was a mini-muffler. It's straight through and quiets the exhaust down. The power loss is minimal from a race pipe
