Looking to buy first Evo (whats this worth?)
Looking to purchase my first Evo and wondering what this is worth to everybody. It has low miles but does need some TLC. Needs rear bumper painted, detailed, tuned, etc... Any input will help but here is the mod list:

block was hot tanked and cross honed
ARP head studs
ARP rod bolts
new OEM main and rod bearings
new OEM water pump
Cometic head gasket
Gasket matched, mild ported head with 3 angle valve job

AEM EMS (the expensive one, tuned (needs retune), 2 step/antilag setup)

SMC alky control progressive alcohol/methanol injection kit
RPS twin disc race clutch (less than 1000 miles old, half of that was from a straight 600 mile trip)

TRE built transmission (beefed up gears, new syncros, updated 5th gear, 1000 miles old)
Rear diff mount inserts
Avid solid front motor mount (new, not installed)

42 Draft Designs single DIN triple gauge holder (replaces stock radio)
Mitsubishi radio relocation kit (moves radio to a lower position, replacing cubby hole)
GReddy E-01 boost controller (not used, but included in the car)
Hallman MBC (this is more accurate than the GReddy thing, but the GReddy thing has a display)
HKS Type 1 turbo timer
Wildrides Racecars 6 point chromoly rollcage (good to 10.0). Rear seats still usable.
5 point racing harness with cam lock release (works, but the belts are expired)
'06 Evo 9 MR gunmetal stock wheels (BBS) and tires
'06 Evo 9 MR stock Bilstein spring/strut combo
cross drilled front rotors
Project Mu front brake pads (they are aggressive, and do make some noise). Stock pads included.
another set of 4 stock rotors, used, but in good shape

Valentine 1 radar detector (built into the rear 3rd brake light, with concealed display kit in front)
JDM Evo 9 tail lights (black housing, clear lens, amber turns)
As far as the built motor he has no receipts but will give me the number to the shop that did all the work.

really hard to say because they buyer never wants to pay that much extra for aftermarket parts but the seller is saying well i cant go down too much because of all the extra parts on it, my suggestion is not to pay that much over KBB because ur honestly not suppossed to pay for aftermarkets

You will probably need to pay cash for the car because it is an older car, but if you can get financing, they will not give you much more than KBB, which is around $13-15k. I would not give him more than $18k or so..
This is a HEAVILY modified vehicle and will require a substantial amount of upkeep, please be warned if you've never owned a modified vehicle like this. It appears as if the original owner has selected a nice array of mods though.

I'd think 18-20k is fair with the mods. Considering car is mechanically sound ie. compression and leak down tests come back ok. At that level of mods though I would def get the shop that built it's info and contact them regarding their thoughts on car and seller.
That way suprises are cut down a bit

That guy has put alot of money into it. He pretty much bought the car twice. It really sucks that he won't be able to get anything close to what he invested in it. You can offer 15k-18k and not feel embarrassed. Just get a PROFESSIONAL to take a look at it because since its modding so heavy you could be getting into a lemon.

you should be real careful buying a car with that many mods. It could have been done right, just be prepared. This is also the first year for Evo's so i might stay away from it. But its your decision. I might suggest something alittle newer with less mods, make it your own.
