For sale: 2003 Evo 8 Twin scroll 30r 400+hp LOTS OF PICTURES
PRICE UPDATE: See last post, car is still for sale.
Hi as the title says I have my beloved 2003 Apex Silver Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 for sale. It has transformed over the last two years into a very responsive 400+awhp Evo on 93oct. I am wanting $20,500 with the stock turbo installed, and $23,500 with the AFI prototype Twin Scroll GT3076r turbo kit. The car has not been in any wrecks and has a completely clear title. First we can start off by listing the modifications.
ENGINE:
Buschur Intake
AFI prototype Tubular Twin scroll GT3076r dual ball bearing turbo kit .78a/r hotside. Capable of 500+whp with full boost by or before 4k rpms. Great part throttle acceleration.
Two Synapse 40mm Wastegates with Atmosphere Dumps. (These keep the boost perfect)
AFI 3"V-band o2 housing
AFI 3"V-band downpipe
Buschur racing 3" Test pipe
Buschur racing 3" cat-back with race muffler(great aggressive sound)
HKS 272 Cams
APR headstuds
60k check up done by Buschur racing at 40ish thousand miles. (when it got its first round of mods at Buschur) Timing belt, water pump etc...
Buschur racing uppper intercooler piping
Evo IX metal DV (or Blow-off Valve)
Buschur racing manual boost controller
Buschur racing deluxe front mount intercooler with shorter IC piping
Slim fan
RNR upper radiator hard pipe(looks awesome)
Weapon R coolant reserve tank
Custom powder coated valve cover and strut bar.
Aluminum lower motor mount(I can't remember what brand, I believe agency power)
Buschur racing mini battery kit
Precision 1200cc injectors(they work fine with a flash, and the car is E-85 ready)
Walbro 255 fuel pump
If purchased with the stock turbo(instead of the AFI kit) it will include the following
Stock 16g turbo with 60k miles
10.5 Buschur ported hotside
SS autochrome stainless steel o2 housing
DC sports Tubular manifold
Also a 93 oct map, as well as an E-85 map
Drivetrain
Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel
ACT 6-puck unsprung clutch(both installed by Buschur at 40ish thousand miles) Plenty of life left
Transfer case, rear diff, and center diff's fluids changed at 55K
Buschur racing shifter bushings for smoother shifts
Electronics/Interior
Custom, one-off gauges with an 8k redline and white illumination(very nice)
Defi 60mm BF white illumination gauges, Imperial numbers... Including Boost, oil temp, & oil pressure. All controlled by a daisy chain control unit. With recording capablity
Gruppe-s 60mm Dash panel(looks very clean and OEM)
Innovate Wideband with a 52mm red readout lcd gauge
HKS turbo timer(car always cooled down for at least a minute)
JVC 200-watt Cd player with Ipod hook-up
Tuning done via ECU flash (tuned by Mitch Mckee @ vivid racing) <---highly recommended
I will include my OBD2 cable to connect to your laptop for tuning
Custom black dyed seats(no more half blue"ricey..er" style seats.. They look great
Graphite colored custom shift knob
Evo MR carbon fiber hand-brake cover
Evo IX cabon style dash inserts
Exterior

JDM Rear bumper(stock one is available if wanted)
Carbon fiber style vortex generator
Blacked-out headlights
Evo IX taillights
Custom EVOLUTION badging on the back
Half blacked-out intercooler, along with black mitsu emblems
Tein S-tech Springs
I am sure I am missing some extras, but that pretty much sums up the modifications. It currently has 61,900 miles. I originally purchased it with 30k miles. Mobil 1 fully sythetic oil changes every 2500 miles. As you can tell the car has been very well taken care of. I have loved every minute of the car, I am just moving in a month and need something different. Yes I know I could take it with me, but I am moving to California where they have the worst laws ever for cars. Not to mention I need some extra money.
The car has been extremely reliable. The only thing that has ever messed up was a clutch slave cylinder which went about 10k miles ago. Anyhow $50 dollars and 30 minutes later she was perfect. If you search about twin scroll you can easily find the benifits. My car hit full boost around 38-3900 rpms. While a typical open scroll 3076r hits full boost around 4400 rpms. Not to mention part throttle response is wonderful. This is easily an 11 second daily driven car. I have ran E-85 for a couple thousand miles on my stock turbo, and I highly recommend it. The car is perfectly setup for 450-500 awhp on E-85. I can have it tuned for E-85 if needed before delivery for just another 100 bucks. (check with me as it might get done anyway)
The car is currently located in Davenport, IA. Which I just recently moved up here, and have to move again. Anyhow I can easily pick you up at the quad city airport. Maybe even Chicago's airport. I also have family down in Effingham, IL (which is an 1-2 hours from ST. Louis, Indianapolis, Champaign, etc... So I would be willing to drive near there to help for delivery. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me any time at 1-217-343-3859. My name is Brandon Balcer. You can also email me at brandon.balcer@gmail.com. If you need any more pictures or video footage, please let me know as I can do it within a day if you need something specific.
Also for those worried about insurance, I have full coverage with Esurance for under $90 bucks a month for the last two years. Check them out.
There are only two know problems..
1. About once maybe twice a month, I get a little squeal from the clutch if you are on a steep hill. This is pretty normal and only does it once in a blue moon, just wanted to let you know.
2. Occasionally on the interstate, there is a p0300 code. It usually happens twice an hour, but if you drive normal(ex. not getting into full boost) it does it less. Basically you can research it on evom.. It is fairly common in 03-04's Basically it studders for a second, then you let off the gas for one second and it is gone. It does not hurt the car in anyway. It throws a check engine code, but I have a creader in place that automatically clears it in a few seconds. Again just want to be as honest as possible. It is occasionally annoying, but with the creader not bad at all. Again it is only on the interstate, usually twice in an hour of driving.
Here a few more crappy cell phone pictures.. I can't find my camera in all my boxes...
Here are some older pictures....

Unfortunately my buyer registered for classes and doesn't have the money left that he thought he would so the car is still for sale.
Price update. Car no longer as the carbon fiber lip as shown in the video.
New price $19,999(for the upgraded stock turbo installed and tuned for 93oct, as well as E-85) If you have E-85 where you live then you can enjoy the extra power the wonderful fuel provides.(a lot of people are putting down at or above 400awhp with the stock turbo and e-85)
Price with the AFI twin scroll turbo kit (which is currently on the car) $22,999.
Again I need to sell soon. Give me a call at 217-343-3859. Or send me an email at Brandon.balcer@gmail.com I am always up for offers. My car needs to find a good home.
Stock turbo is also for sale here... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=351425
