I would shoot for an evo 8/9 like they said, but insurance is rape ont hat thing pending your age, and its not going down with this accident. Look into wrx or those mazda speed3's. You can find them for around 15k with lower miles or 10k with miles around 60 to 70k (speed 3 Im referring to).
You probably won't get any money from insurance, like they said, what you missed on work you could get, they'll pay off what you owe, and your medical will be covered, try to fight and get some settlement out of it, but I wouldn't hope for much, worse comes to worse, you should take that and run to a credit union, get approved for a car loan, give them half of your settlement, and take your other half and invest it for a few months (everything is starting to go up again in stocks n what not), take it out in a few months and pending the vehicle you have upgrade turbos and what not. Just my opinion, but if you play your cards right and fight for what you want, you could end up with a very nice set of tuned wheels this time next year!

I wouldn't be too mad if his insurance covers it all. I mean you get to get out of a slow car and make a more tuning conscious decision and get into something quicker and more fun. It sucks going through it but in a way its like a get out of jail free card.

Wow that sucks that looked like it was a really nice looking lancer. did you keep any of the parts off it? to sell? Also what lip is that i really like it.

I would look at a MazdaSpeed 3, or a 6 long before I looked at anything Dodge. No offense, but there is a reason you can get those things for 7000. If you can afford it, look around and find urself a low miles Evo, hell there was an Ev0 VIII with 5k on it for like 22 just the other day. Good luck and your health is more important than anything.
Side note, here in KY, the at fault driver has to rent you a car while ur's is fixed or until you settle. If thats the case where you are, get them to rent you one asap, and when they come low balling with offers, just tell them you don't have to settle right away, you can just keep driving their car around until they make you a reasonable offer.
