Get a short shifter! cheap mod and one of my favorites

Why'd you have to replace your front suspension? You should have thrown some cheap springs or something on when you did to drop it a bit!

edit: also, some small spacers for your rear wheels would look good

Yeah, ill add those to the list haha they may be higher up since theyre cheap

All the stuff i replaced was just shot, dangerous to drive. I didnt replace the springs, and believe me i was planning on getting tein s. and REALLY wanted some coilovers but i spent the money on the stuff i needed. I plan on selling this relatively soon and start saving for an evo. then ill really get good stuff

Also i never put a pic of the whole thing.. so here ya go

Short shifter is from Lancershop.com but their price has doubled since I bought it... you can probably find a cheap reliable one on eBay. The shift knob is from Moddiction. I also recommend replacing the rubber bushings on the shifter and under the hood to give it a real solid throw

End result probably cuts the length/throws in half:

If anyone has a side profile of the stock shifter to compare, I'd be interested in seeing it

Yeah theres some on ebay that are identical for about half the price. Dont know specifically what bushings you're talking about, still learning

Heres a profile pic, yours is right about where my boot stops

And also another pic i was messin around with in picnik

There are 4 bushings (one in each corner) connecting the plastic shifter base to the car. You can see these if you remove the center console. Replacing the soft bushings with a hard rubber or metal then you make the shifter assembly more solid.

There are 2 bushings under the hood that connect the shifter to the transmission. These are a bit harder to find and replace but if I remember correctly they are behind the air intake (may have to remove it to see them). Replacing these rubber bushings with a harder material firms up your throws.

All six bushings might run you another 50 bucks depending on where you get them...

Now that ive had some ebay racing seats sitting around trying to figure how to put them in, i REALLY want them in.. (any ideas? dont want to destroy the stock seats and brackets cost atleast 200)

Anyway my top interior mods i really want are:

Evo 8/9 Guage Cluster
Short shifter w/ globe knob (like Wangmans)
Racing seats

Also i'd love some paint touch ups all around and a new grill.. oh and side skirts, and lower it lol the list never ends

Alright so i started to make some brackets for my seats. Didnt really feel like paying 200 for brackets.

I bought two lancer seats at a junkyard for $50 and im going to buy some metal and bolts tomorrow maybe $10-15. So around $70ish for some nice homemade brackets
I cut each corner piece off the stock seats and im going to run two crossbars under the racing seats and attach the corners in the correct spot

Heres a diagram and ill probably post a how-to later with more pics
