Removing Head Unit - Tight Knobs?

Before anyones says "Search" Ive seen the posts about this, and im fully aware of the process to get the stock head unit out. (Remove knobs, take screws off, gently pry panel off, etc) .... My problems is, I cant even get the Knobs off! Is there a 'trick' to getting the knobs off? Ive pulled with great force, and no such luck! I dont wanna go ripping it off, and breaking something on my 3 day old car .

Anyone able to help me?

Trust me .. ive tried!!! Its almost like theyve been super glued on!!! I have an Outlander in the driveway as well (same aircon controls) and they come straight off, but they dont in my lancer. Was just wondering if anyone in the US has had a similar issue to their new car!
