MAS screws stripped.

One of my MAS screws are damn near stripped, i was planning on buying a SRI but if i cant get my MAS off what am i gonna do? anyways, does anyone no a way to get it off without me stripping it more? thanks.

I used a pair of pliers....I also had this issue and my car was near new when I put my intake on. Those screws are such garbage

yeah use pliers that don't have the jagged grip, cause those will strip them even more starting on the outside.

As an absolute last resort, you can *carefully* drill the heads off the screws, and then use pliers or vise grips to remove the protruding stud after you take the MAS off. Then go to a decent hardware store that stocks metric fasteners, and get some good screws of the same size/length/thread pitch.

i stripped mine and just ended up drilling them out which was no problem. and then i used some screws i had layng around the garage.

I got out a saw and cut the MAS off after taking the whole box out of the car

another option is hack saw, put a "slice" into the head of the screw, then use a slotted screw driver to remove them

yeah the dremel is your friend with bad screws... make a line and use a screwdriver !

that s the best, then replace the screws

if you guys and or girls are replacing them make sure to get stainless steel ,if not you'll run in to this problem again.........

I ran into this problem also. I found out at the hardware store that phillips screwdrivers have 3 sizes of drives (kinda like ball point pens); when you use the wrong size one, you will end up stripping the screw, so be sure to use the finest one for the MAS screws or else it will become a PITA.
