I'd much rather have a place do it and have the warranty.

i paid $100, but that is with a student discount, 2 yr warranty. Had it put on the day after I bought my car and still looks great. 30% front and 20% back (they wouldnt do it any darker with a warranty and I needed that )

50% is the only legal in CA, and that's the lightest ones

I never understood that. 50% is damn near clear. Ohio has the same law. That's why I only went down to 32% on my windows. I know I'm still illegal, but at least there will be less chance of a cop messin with me. I've already been pulled over a couple times and no one has said a word about my tint, so more than likely it wont be an issue ever.

I got mine done for $145 all 7 windows (small ones) and three year warranty and supposedly it was cheaper because it was slow that day

160 for an alright job.. they had some problem on the back window, but lifetime warranty, but since it's from a shady person who does it under the table... i doubt i'll see him again. No problems with it, after getting tested by the cops a couple of times i'm at like 14% in back and 20% front including the factory tint...

I talked my dealer into doing mine for free if I bought the car. Just the rear 3 windows though, it feels like I'm driving a limo. =D
