Exclamation Gauging interest: Trunk Lip Spoiler

Hey everyone,

With the recent spoilerless 'trend' getting somewhat popular (or at least it seems to me), I thought that maybe all the people who dislike the stock spoiler and despise the Evo spoiler might want another option. I personally think that a Lexus IS300-style spoiler would look great on our cars, something along the lines of this:

Either with the brake light or without, I think it accents the rear end of the car very well. So, what I want to know from you guys is:

Lancer owners: do you like how this looks? Would you buy it if it were available? How much would you pay for one?

RRM/Accolade/Other parts manufacturers: Would you guys make something like this? How much would it cost?

Basically I'm just trying to get the ball rolling on this, so that if we see that people want it, and that someone could make it, then we get another mod for our cars. Thanks for reading, everyone.

You have to remember tho, the spoilers you see on the STi/Evo are operational spoilers, not just to look cool. The spoiler your talkin about is more for looks than anything. . . Looks good but id rather have performance.

ya but for our cars we dont really need a spoiler tht "helps with are traction" cuz well we are front wheel drive cars not all wheel or rear wheel...so spoilers dont really help us as much as they should.

I like it. But I would only buy it if I was going for that "import luxury" look, you know, like what some people do with Galants and Accords.

Could someone photochopped the wing onto an 03 and an 04 to get an idea what it would like on our cars?

Only if it were still functional. Think what you want about spoilers on FWD cars, but they still perform a function and provide high-speed stability in the rear end.

The IS300 is rear drive, so that spoiler is functional, to an extent anyway. You're not going to get the kind of downforce you'd get with the stock Evo or Lancer wing, but it's got to have some effect.

Bottom line, the big wing will help you more, but this is a good alternative for wingless Evos/Lancers that don't care for either the low or carbon wing.

Right. In theory, too much downforce on a FWD car will actually reduce grip and limit control and power delivery. You've got to have a hell of a wing for that though. For Lancers (ES/LS/OZ/Ralliart) the wings are 100% cosmetic. None of those models can readily achieve the speed at which a rear wing would help, and by then the stock tires would be past the speed ratings.

The spoiler is pretty difficult to photoshop; this is the best I could do, if anyone can make a better one, please do so.

i'd like my lip spoiler a bit bigger, like the ones you can see on widebody kitted pre-ludes and or G35s. including wide fender flares on our cars. we will be like whoa.

i really don't like it, it just makes your look like it's gotta major bump on it's trunk, lol, no but really i'd rather have spoiler or tasteful wing, but thats only my opinion

now seein it on our cars i actually like it alittle more now...good PS...it looks good with tht car cuz of the fact tht its lowered and the wheels are tucked in. i wonder how much tht would cost us if it went through production.
