Quick fix gentlemen,
For those of you that decide to just grab a universal shift knob off the shelf vs. paying high price for threaded knobs.
Go to Autozone and buy 3/8 fuel line. 1 foot will cost about a 1.50 and it slides flawlessly into the shift knob. Put the knob on the shifter and tighten down the allens and twist the knob down as far as it goes( with the allens tight).
Your knob will be tighter than any threaded knob. To remove-just twist off.

oh and for my shift knob, i had a RAZO in the RA. its weighed like 260grams and i took it out when the car got wrecked, now its in my new Xrunner

I wouldn't mind getting the Greddy counterweighted knob. Can anyone say how different it feels? I don't mind the feel of the stock shifter/knob, but a little less effort wouldn't be bad.

^+1 I just recently put in the Razo 340 counterweighted shifter, and it is as smooth as glass to me.... But the factory one seems only a little lighter and with the same counterweight action.... maybe that's just the 2003's.... Just waiting for my B&M adjustable short shift, maybe it would be even tighter with that......

The factory shifter has a counterweight attached to the actual shifter. Some aftermarket shifters don't, but will give you a counterweight knob along with the shifter, thus making the feel of the shifting (outside of the shorter length) feel the same.
Best thing to do is get a shifter with a counterweight attached (I believe WORKS short shifter does) and get a counterweight knob to go along with it.
