Typically I'm all for people doing whatever they want to their car...it's their car after all. Still, I'm not a fan of making your car look like something it isn't. I think people should be proud of what they own and accentuate it accordingly; let people see it's a Lancer, and then throw on some nice wheels, drop it, fancy-up the interior, and make them want what you've got. Personally, when I see what looks to be an Evo coming down the road, only to realize it's a Lancer, I cringe a little. What could have been a sexy looking Lancer is suddenly a wannabe Evo (even if the driver doesn't intend to fool anyone).

I'm seriously not trying to be a hater, just saying that making your car look like something it isn't can really throw a lot of people off, myself included. If you're a better person than I and don't really care, more power to you! Although, I'm not sure about that wing on a FWD car, which makes even less sense than it does on an Evo.

to me, dont try to pose as something its not. See with the Subaru guys, its just a little different. The WRX is still AWD and Turbo, so putting the STi wing isnt that bad, but when a FWD Lancer comes out and does it, its kind of ridiculous. Call me a hater, call me whatever you want, but I dont think Im hating if I own an Evo and telling a Lancer guy this.

i appreciate everyone being honest, as for the posing part if i could own any car it would be an IX MR and if you could see the smile on my face every time i look in my rear view you would understand why i spent 400 bucks so i could be a little closer to my dream, say what you will im lovin it

 

 

I like the look of the car the wing sets it off nice and like others have said tint rims and rear tail lights will sit just fine on the car

Just as a side note with everyone that says they don't like the wing I wonder why it is not liked I think on a style side of things it is a perfect match for the cars shape much better than the ***** OEM one that comes from the factory...
If people are saying it is too much of a wanna be a evo then that is just straight up stupid... I mean I have rims that are the same as an evo does that mean I can't have these rims because they are the same as an evo... what a crock.

The stock spoiler really is kinda lame, would have looked so much cooler if it was taller - and then of course most Aussie ES's have them thrown on to sweeten the deal by the dealership... I really think they had it in for the VR-X / Ralliart sometimes.
I like the old Evo VI style wing, though I don't know if it would fit... or suit... but I'd like to think so

 

no not at all......you're example is completely different. just dont try to be something you arent.

if you wanted all the features of an Evo then why dont you buy one? cant afford one? save, thats what i did and i finally got it. the wing is one part of the Evo that makes it an Evo. Mitsu designed the car with everything in mind for it to be used.....obviously mostly for the track. AWD, turbo, ACD, even the spoiler to create downforce (something that FWD cars really dont need). i dont see any Lancers on the track putting times. the wing is designed for that reason.

 

maybe we dont want to blow all our money on an evo? and the wind is not the main feature of the evo. other things are there to set it apart as well including the hood, body, head and taillights ect.. so what if it doesnt help fwd cars?? who cares as long as they like it (which i love mine). plenty of fwd cars have wings/spoilers that do jacks*** but nobody cares because it looks good to the people that have them they are mainly cosmetic anyways

 

im not blowing all my money on my evo.....i got my other toys too. go make more money so u wouldnt have to spend all your money on one then.

yeah, civics and others do the same which is retarded. they may think it looks good, ok cool. but this thread was made with intentions of imitation which i dont think is right. yeah, its my opinion but i think that adding this wing was dumb.
