Need Help Restoring Faded Red Paint

So I have been low on cash for the last 6 months and stopped driving the car since it needed timing belts new clutch etc etc (2k worth of work lets just say) any ways so the cars paint was already in bad shape and now leaving it one place has made it pretty faded, at places it looks pinkish or like a film of white is on it. If you put something oily or even touch it it gets restored but dries out ....... so is it ruined? what can I do? any help would be nice, I got no pics since the car is in the shop atm.

thanks

try having it cut and buffed... i have the same problem with my red plastics (around the rear lic. plate the most) and i buffed it with a mild abrasive creme and it came back...it's been almost 5 months and it's still lookin great. i'd give that a try first, if that doesnt work maybe consult a body shop... might need a wet sand and polish...

I use meguiars 3 step wax. It comes with a paint cleaner, polish, and then straight carnuba wax. It is their deep crystal system. I would try that out first and see what happens. I do it a couple times a year on my phoenix red ralliart and it still shines like the day I bought it. Red oxidizes faster than any other color so you need to keep a good coat of wax on at all times.

yea the meguire 3 step didnt work too well gonna try to add meguires hand glaze or speed glaze before putting on wax see if that helps. If that doesn't work I guess I will get a professional to use some aggressive polish and cut and buff and seal/wax and try to maintain that.... Its a shame, it was such a beauty but I didnt take care of it...............
