2 hours into pulling off plasti dip from the roof and I'm 1/3 done. This is a pain to take off. It probably would be easier if I had a thicker coat on. It keeps breaking when I pull (slowly and carefully). Also, I wonder if I smoothed the paint really well with a clay bar if it wouldn't stick so damn well.

It took me 3 days to take off the roof. It took me 5 minutes to take off the hood. The hood was much thicker and it came off in one piece. My 4 year old son was having fun pulling it off.
Moral of the story is to make sure you do 3 layers or more. I think I only did 2 on the roof and 4 on the hood. I did more on the hood trying to even out the look.

That actually looks pretty good!
word of advice, if you decide to peel it off, DO NOT power wash...there is a horry story of some lexus guy who powerwashed the Plati dip off and it strated taking paint off...maybe his power washer was just too strong...but becareful
otherwise, sick!

Anyone have any good feedback on Plastidip, does it hold up well over time?
Is it better to sand an area before you paint?
I want to use this to paint my whole car because my clear coat is peeling badly. I am wondering if this will protect my car from rust. I am thinking it might be best to sand the car down, then do a layer of primer, sand for good texture, then use a gallon of plastidip that is thinned and use a paint sprayer to put nice even coats.
That's the plan anyways.
