thanks! It'll be my first one since I missed out on the one at the Shootout.

I need to find a way to rig up my GoPro camera in the car... Id rather have it setup where you can see everything not just what is beyond the dash... lol

you'll probably need some suction cup or magnet mounts or even a tripod(but then you miss half the race because you probably go too far for the camera to get a good view..or have somebody hold it)

best bet is probably on the roof or side of the car somewhere IMO
im sure somebody will com,e up and let you know more ways to do it tho

Yea this one was fairly open. The first one I went to a few weeks ago was quite a but tighter and most of the corners were off camber. This one almost felt like it was all sloloms except for a couple of sweeping turns...

People kept asking me how I did. But the course changes everytime so its hard to explain my time to them. I'm racing in road tire unlimited. And both times I've been in 11th of 14 racers in that class.

But I decided to start comparing my times to the best one of the day to get a better idea of how I'm doing. For example at the first event my best time was 9 seconds behind the fastest. This time I was only 6 seconds behind the fastest.

Going to join the SCCA here soon as well ill get a $30 discount now that I've been to two events.

sweet...I've only done a couple...we did one here on the road course (nelson circuit) in shannonville...it was pretty cool, and fast, I hit a loose slalom at 140km/h and had to counter steer on the last two...it was a little too aggressive. but I beat a modified S2000, and I was only 2 seconds behind my buddy's 500+hp AWD Talon

mine have always been for funzies, are you competing for cash? trophy? parts?

Im just doing it for fun. I know my car is built completely wrong to compete where it should at this point. Not built enough to keep up with the purpose built race cars in unlimited, but built enough that they cant put me in stock or street prepared. Oh well... But I think you do get a trophy and maybe a small cash reward if you stay at the top of your class for the whole season.

I did beat a few mustangs, an alfa romeo, and a abarth both times Ive gone that I know of. Looks like a few more this last time but I'll have to wait till they post the final results to be sure.

that's awesome man...from the video, it looked like you could have been a little more aggressive in some sections, like you were letting off through the slalom sections...with practice, you will gain confidence, and get a second nature feel for how the car will react, and you'll be able to throw her around a bit more...what is your alignment set at? and what tires do you have again? and what pressure are you running?

Alignment is 0 in the rear and -1 in the front. Tires are BFGoodrich KDW G-Force 2. Lowered the tire pressure at the race to 32 psi in the front and 25 psi in the rear I think. Was at 35 all the way round but after chalking the tires I realized I was missing out on about a quarter inch of tread on each side so I lowered it until the rear wasnt as slide happy as it was and i felt more planted.

Idk which section you are referring to in specific. But I know I was pulling it a bit in the first slalom because I went in a bit too hot once before and due to the off camber at the last cone I lost time trying to correct myself, so I was trying to stay smooth through there. The return though the heavily chalked area, I could never get a good rhythm through there.

I noticed a lot of things I could have done differently with the videos, that I didnt notice while actually on the track. Im going to have to bring something with me next time so that I can watch my gopro footage between runs. I have another video of a slower lap where I knock down a cone with the fiance in the car. I might have to upload it too.

Well had a pretty crappy Sunday... Went to pick up a friend from where he worked so we could go to see the new Xmen movie. Well, I turn off of a highway onto a side road and as I go over the hill there is a pot hole. I could have spazed out jerked around and dodged it. But from where I was sitting it looks shallow. I was oh so wrong...

Blurry I know. But you can see the problem. It bent my passenger side front wheel and thus went flat. I pulled into the first available driveway of which the owner told me there had been 5 others last week that the same thing happened to...

Called the Road Dept and got the run around about who to speak with about getting refunded. Finally talked to the city attorney and sent him a packet with a letter about what happened, a cost estimate to have it repaired, a civilian accident report, a receipt for the wheels and tires, and pictures of the damage and the pot hole. Hopefully I hear from them soon.

*le sigh* :/
