Bad news from the zone tumbleweeds. :/

Was on my way home tonight and went past an oncoming truck. As I got past its blinding headlights I see stuff in the road. And without time to react I hit something hard. I rolled forward a bit in shock then pulled over to see if I did any damage and find this.

:/

Pretty bummed. Anyway I look up thinking that down the road I would see tail lights of the person cause they would have stopped to get their stuff. But no. No lights to be seen. They took off. I hopped back in the car spun around in the snow and ice and took off to try finding them. But they must've turned off onto one of the backroads cause I saw no signs of them...

Going to see what State Farm says tomorrow but I'm not going to get my hopes up since I only have liability. They wouldn't even replace my cracked windshield that wasn't my fault either... what's the point in paying insurance all these years if they never help me!!! *deep breath* woo-sah...

Anyway if they don't help me what do you all think I should do? Find an OE replacement or get something aftermarket? I always told myself that if anything needed fixed on this car that it would be upgraded if possible... thoughts?

Oh! And to the jacka$$ that didn't tie their stuff down correctly!

well, you'll want to stitch it so it doesn't get worse, but as far as replacement, I don't know...I'm in the same boat, if I wreck my front bumper, I don't know what i'll do...the Evo X style bumper looks good in photoshop, but real life is a different story...I think I would actually go with an 04-05 bumper, and modify it.

@slc wow that's awesome! Yea a link would be great! Thank you!

@cranswick I was looking at those duraflex photoshops. I really like the Evo IX MR Front and rear bumpers. I've never sen a real set though so I'm skeptical. I was also thinking about getting another 04-05 bumper and removing the nose where the emblem sits.

@evo2809 that's what I think I'm gunna do. Maybe save up for the RRM lip while I'm at it and give it a whole new front end. I really like the IX MR rear bumper though I might get it some day... idk...

Got out in the white out we were having with a heat gun, drill, and zipties. Here is what I came up with for the mean time. Not pretty but whatever... lol figured I would use red zipties because why not? might as well wear them with pride I guess.

Nice "stopcracks"...that should hold up for now...

on a sidenote, a snow bank knocked my front lip off on the one side again...this spring I'm going to use 3M window weld to glue the damn thing on...

Excellent work, Doctor. I was gonna recommend drilling the hole at the end of the crack to reduce the intensity of the stress and stop further crack propagation, but you know yer stuff!
