Thanks! I appreciate it!
And Im not entirely sure now... Its been a while. I think it was that heat resistant black paint you can get at autozone or walmart made for grills. Then i put a matte clear coat over it. Im about to redo it with plastidip though.

HAHA!!! Thanks rzrxn. Im surprised someone revived this thing. I havent posted here in ages... Which reminds me that I really need to get the pictures from the shootout from my GF. I'll snap a few pictures of the car, and the changes Ive made to it for here. I'll probably have so many pictures of the shootout it will deserve its own thread.... hahaha

Anyway progress wise. The RA has kinda been put on hold. Im getting ever closer to having my eclipse turbo'd so that has been a big priority. I really just want to get it on the road again I could care less what it looks like at the moment. Once that thing is running Im going to to some maintenance on the RA, and hopefully start a few new projects. Got big plans for her!

Well rzrxn since you brought my thread back from the dead. You have motivated me to dig up some pictures of my car. Here they are:

daaaaaaayum! i love what you've done man! simply amazing...

black side mirrors ftw lmfao! makes your black&white theme look more aggressive!

i also read through your whole "2001 Eclipse TURBO PROJECT" thread and thats just amazing stuff. you're really going all out on Mitsus! thats the spirit! when i get some time, ill post up some pics of MY ralliart and hopefully get on my way to building it just like everyone i know here on EvoM.

its been a sick-*** journey so far and im slowly starting to tinker with my RA. starting out with suspension checks/adjustments/troubleshooting then hope to move forward to bigger things (engine, transmission, body work, etc). i wish i was as CAR-SAVVY as all of you guys...

patience is a virtue...

cheers and thanks again for the inspiration! take care!

PS: first thing i will work on is going to be the suspension. i want my RA to handle like a beast and i dont want to hear any clicks/squeaks/thuds/etc. i want to replace all of the old/rotting parts with newer, more reliable ones. i will need a lot of help so when i start my show&shine thread, you guys WILL be flooded with questions! be ready for that THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

but before all of that, i needs to get my transmission in good shape

Thanks man! I blacked out quite a bit of stuff with plastidip a while back. Trim around the side windows, mirrors, roof, redid the wing and licence shroud.

As for the eclipse I just posted some pics of all the stuff Ive been collecting the other day. Last night I posted the picture of the Evo 8 16g turbo with a 10.5 hotside. Im really excited!!!

Getting some work done on my house and garage then I will full blown tackle the eclipse and get it lined out. After it is running I have some plans to freshen up my RA. Im going to remove all the plastidip and give it some new edge that I havent seen on any RA before. Then I'll start with the 4g69 motor build prepping it for boost.

Honestly I think you are on the right track. Getting the suspension overhauled and upgraded really brings the RA to life. And Ive been around motors of all sorts since I was very young. One of the first toys I ever had was a tiny one cylinder model airplain motor. My grandpa gave it to me in a shoe box with all the tools I'd need to tear it down and rebuild it. I rebuilt that little motor a few hundred times I believe lol. But Im still learning as I go. Every new project is another opportunity to learn something new, and improve on something else. Good luck with your build!

Oh man, that sounds insane! Props to your grandpa for that!

I recently dipped my emblems in matte black PlastiDip and I think they look pretty awesome to match my black and silver theme. I'm also planning to dip my wheel caps (the ones with the Mitsu symbol on them) since the red paint that I put on is now peeling and it looks like crap, lol.

I also started a thread in the "Show & Shine" section just to get feedback and advice from everyone regarding my "Tramp-a-roo" (my girl named my car so I had no say in that, if you know what I mean, LOL!)

Hopefully, I get everything up to par with my RA. This car will always be with me no matter what and I'm willing to spend as much time and energy on it as I can to get him back on track.

My short-term goal is to get him back in shape and get all the old/rotted parts replaced. Long-term goal is to have him ready for some rallying on an off-road, dirt track. That's my dream for my RA. It WILL come true...someday. Guess we just gotta start off in baby steps like me replacing my front driver, outer tie rod end, lol. Got a good deal on the part: MOOG, $25, lifetime warranty!

I'll re-post this whole blurb in my car's thread so people can see my goals too.

Thanks for the encouragement, man! I'm going to need A LOT of help when I start working on Tramp. I can't wait!!!

Cheers, my friend!

No updates right now. Just trying to get some plans out of my head and somewhere I'll actually be able to keep track of them. Hopefully most of this will start happening within the next couple months. I need to finish up that eclipse (speaking of that I need to update it's thread too). Will all this happen. Who knows. But its what I will be working toward. Enjoy.

ENGINE:
======
V6 TB
Get Exhaust Manifold finished
Turbo Stuff
3" straight exhaust
Oil Cooler (or use adapter for turbo oil feed...)
MAYBE get oversized evo pistons and stronger rods...
MAYBE have head ported and polished...
MAYBE delete EGR if possible with UVTune
balance shaft delete
ARP head studs
Wideband
3Bar
Half size radiator install

TRANNY:
======
Ziggy phantom grip
new clutch pack
modified valve bodies
stronger axles
Tranny cooler

SUSPENSION:
==========
Inspect bushings
Solid tranny mount
IF POSSIBLE solid left motor mount, if not get torque dampener
Modify/Fix H-brace
Fender braces
Trunk braces
Roll Fenders
Extended Lug studs
Inspect Brakes and Rotors

BODY:
=====
Remove plastidip
deep clean (remove gunk and left over dip)
Vent hood
Replace Vortex Generator (rivet this one down...)
buy rear window vents
RA mirrors
Re-Dip

INTERIOR:
========
New Steering wheel
Relocate Cruise Control
Bucket Seat(s)
Relocate Radio
Gauges
Relocate fog light button
Make gauge pod out of old fog panel
temporarily remove pillars, headliner, and rear seats for shootout.

EDIT:: Also just placed my order for a Tactrix cable with all the adapters (just cause). Its about time to start playing with some tuning!

HAHA! Yea me too. I'll do more than 2 drag runs, and not over sleep and miss the autoX. LOL

Teen and I will have just had our wedding. And I am hoping I can have someone drive my Eclipse up as the support car! Heck maybe if my brother has invested enough in it by then it will be decent enough to perform too.

i thought about suggesting you drive the eclipse to the shootout..but figured the RA is your baby...and the eclipse has already been stated is more of a project car with potential for sale back to the "original" owner...and thought about suggesting maybe your brother could drive it uo and possibly race it too...
but if he didint care so much about the car i'm sure he wouldn't be interested in racing the right way...just interested in looking at any models and the fancy/shiny cars...

It crossed my mind. But I really would like to see more RAs at the shootout. So Im for sure bringing mine. The Eclipse will hopefully be something at least interesting to look at by the time the shootout comes around.

Id like to have my brother come up with me this year. He would probably like to try his hand at racing a bit. I'll just have to stay on top of him about stuff. He likes to go fast he just neglects the other side of that coin; maintenance. lol

Oh i posted in the discussion thread but I will post it here too. My Tactrix cable came in the mail yesterday!

i figured as much...that's y i didn't mention it originally in my comment...lol

but like you said...you'd rather have the RA thert...
but at leats it's something else there(provided you bring it) and if he's helped at all he'd be interested in what other dsm's there have done and point himself in a good direction...
and you can use it as a support vehicle if anythign happens...lol
