A question on the Sun/Sound setup

I have an RA with the sun/sound package, but I was wondering how possible it was to swap out the Infinity subwoofer with a sub/amp combo. Are there separate amplifiers for the sub and other speakers, or is it all integrated into one single amp? Anyone who has either tried or researched this, let me know, as I am considering it just for kicks. Thanks!

Also, can anyone tell me how many channels the amp has? I'm guessing at least 5, but can someone provide clarification?

I think the amp that comes with it is a 5 channel, and from what I have gathered it uses a wierd connection(not coax or rca) to connect everything up. I think someone was saying you couldn't even hook another amp up to the deck, but that doesn't make sense. Then again I don't know much about car stereo stuff.

I didn't get the sun and sound package and got my own system put in after In my ralliart. However from what I remember in my 2002 eclipse which I would imagine its similar...they had to take out the factory amp to put in an amp for my JL's I put in...then again the Eclipse didn't come with a sub but you probably would want a different amp to run more than one...

I went with a JL 6 channel amp in the ralliart ...I have one Jl sub in the back and JL xr series components in the front and equivalent (non components) in the back (factory does not have components in rear) and all are amped...sounds amazing! it didn't come cheap though...so be prepared to pay a bit for quality but well worth it...

One question I was wondering though from the people with the sun and sound package :

do you have an interior light like the cars without the sunroof or maplights on the mirror...I want map lights and mine did not come with it...I was wondering if the model with the sunroof may have had it (can't picture there being a door light because thats where the sunroof goes normally thats why I asked) and how hard it would be to get... thanks

My interior light is directly in front of the sunroof. It has the interior light in the middle, with two maplights flanking it on either side.

BTW...thanks for the reply, Raelic. I like the way it sounds, just wondering if more bass can be had. I'll probably end up running another powered sub off of the rear speaker inputs. Who knows though.
