Blue 05 Lancer VR-X

Hey everyone,

Having spent some time on here browsing everyone else's S&S threads and getting inspiration from them all. I've finally decided to post up my progress so far.

A lot of work still to be done, but still excited about doing it all (my sig mentions in more detail, what I've done and what I'm looking at doing).

As an FYI the VR-X is like the Ralliart but for NZ/Aus.

When I first got her;

New set of rims, window tint and a Evo 7 spoiler (which IMO does not suit this model, have gone back to stock and looking for a Evo 8 spoiler):

Few more upgrades had happened but didn't take progress photos, so here she is today since I finally put my Evo 7 seats in (gave her a quick wash too):

Just out of curiosity what's the width of the wheel? And this is entirely my opinion but I'd get some spacers and have the wheels sit nicely right next to the fender (which you would have to roll first, of course).

Ah I think there a 205 but I could be wrong. But yeah I have been looking at it more recently thinking it needs to flare out a bit more, only thing is the laws and regulations here are quite strict so I need to do a bit more research on it first.

Thanks. Ha yeah in a nutshell real hard. It's what puts me off washing it most of the time. I try to jack it up and remove them to clean them fully about every 4-5 washes, but it's just a pain how long it takes to wash it then. I've tried different types of rim cleaners and what not but none seem to work any good, elbow grease works best.

They originally came in Hyper Silver, but I had them sprayed white. Have also been thinking of getting them sanded and re-polished back to the Hyper Silver as then you don't notice the dirt so much.

Looking good...my first thought was spacers too to get the wheels to sit flush, but I love the evo7 seats, but they look sorta dusty. Vacuum much? Good work and its good to see lots of pics. I'm a fan of the blue finish, the US R/A didn't have that option iirc.

Is that a 2.0L? What is that circular thing on the rear c-pillar next to the small quarter window? Is that a rear reading light? If so, jealous...

Yeah the seats are a bit dirty, I need to get some seat shampoo.

Yeah 2.0L 4G94, I unfortunately didn't realise when I went buying for a new car that there was a 2.0L and a 2.4L MIVEC, if I had I would have got the 2.4L MIVEC, but I'm still happy with it.

They are actually my component speakers for the rear, when I was buying my speakers the components were the same price as the coaxial's, so thought might as well.

Haha, it handles quite nice with the Progress bar, I did look at the Whiteline bars originally since they are easily accessible for me in New Zealand (they are made in Australia), but I was buying other gear from RRM at the time so it meant all in one package.

It saddens me a bit that I just haven't had the money or time in the last 6 - 8 months to finish off what I started, but I ended up buying a house so . Hopefully in the next 12 months I'll be able to finish her off.
