Aftermarket Stereo
Aftermarket Stereo
I'm looking at getting a RA and I already have my stereo stuff I'd be swapping over.
I'm just looking for some feedback from people that have already done they're stereo (if anyone).
So if anyone has pics....fire them up....lets see!

hey man...
I would say do a search, I know there were posts last month about guys already having aftermarket gear up in their RA's, but I don't remember which posts they are.
Also, check out the RA registry section. A few guys have posted pics of their setups.
As far as install goes on the RA, I've heard it's pretty clean and easy....

Does anyone know if the install would be the same as a regular Lancer? I want to upgrade my sound as well. I'll even take the deck and rear speakers out of an 86 Tercel I have. (Of course it's not stock)
There is a lot of info on the Lancer sites so this would be a bonus if it is the same.

I installed my system about a week after having my RA back in November. I've got 2 PS 12'' Xplodes, a Pioneer 7500 mp3 deck and a PS amp as well. I also have 4 Polk Audio Momo 6 1/2's and just kept using the stock infinite tweeters we get. And yes, the installation is the same as 02 Lancers and up.

If you pull out that little tray under the HVAC stuff there are two screws pointing up, if you take those out those are the only screws you need to pull out IIRC. You then take off the hvac knobs. Then take a screwdriver wrapped in something so you don't destroy your dash and go around the plastic piece that goes around the stereo(the big one that goes around HVAC, stereo, etc) and work around the outside slowly. There are like 6-8 snaps(for lack of a better word) that hold that plastic piece in. Just make sure you go slowly and watch your dash so you don't scratch it to hell. The whole install took me like 15-20 minutes after I had wired in the wire harness from a stereo shop. All-in-all it is a really easy install. And here are my condensed instructions.

well i jsut put a second radio in mine. it took maybe 10 minutes to do the whole install, the deck was simple to put in and being an iso mount just makes it so much easier to do. if you need any help let me know
