It's the timing belt...
I checked it as soon as I got home. Took off the upper timing belt cover.
Rotated the camshaft pulley and noticed that a section of the timing belt is missing its teeth.
Further steps for me would be to check the valves and pistons. Head is coming off later.
I'm going to tackle the problem this weekend and hopefully there is no damage to the internals of the engine.
Thank you Josh for all your insight man! I'll keep you all posted as to what goes down when I take Tramp apart...
Pray for me and Tramp please!
Thanks for all your support guys! Take care...

Sounded like thats what it was. Sorry to hear that man. I wish you the best. Hopefully no valves are bent. Youll be a lucky man if so.
Might as well go ahead and order your water pump and whatever other mods you wanna do while your down there. Its a good time to do it if your going to be in there. Ive done the timing on my Eclipse, RA, and Evo. And on every one of them I went ahead and deleted the balance shafts, put in a new water pump, eliminated and unneeded pulleys or sprockets, put on an underdrive pulley, and if your head is getting rebuilt anyway might not be a bad time to drop in a cam, delete the EGR and PCV, throw in some thermal spacers. There are a lot of good mods you can use this as an opportunity to throw in.

It's tough when you think about it. They only made so many of these cars in the first place and they were they that popular compared to the sport compacts of the era.
It's also hard for these cars to be popular when the aftermarket support is so minimal...
