8", dual voice coil.

I think it's a pretty good sub. I mean, it won't pound like your average 12", but it's a well-balanced sub for the entire system.

I really haven't looked at it too in-depth, but all the sun/sound components hook together with their own unique connectors. There is a website that sells adapters with the connector on one end and RCA's on the other.

I haven't seen official specs on the power coming from the amp (located underneath the drivers seat), but I'm not sure it would have enough juice to drive another bigger sub as hard as you would want. I would just disconnect the power and audio lines going to the sub, remove the unit, and just install another amp/sub in the trunk.

Somebody really needs to find out the official specs on the whole sun/sound package (RMS power, etc..), but I wouldn't know where to go to ask. Infinity doesn't know anything about the system, based on an email response they sent me.

I know that if you want more bump out of you system and you put a different amp on the sub, REPLACE THE SUB. I tried to run it of a 40X2 Kicker amp and unded up blowing the stock sub. I even had the gain turned all the way down. It sounded nice, but was way overpowered. I am going to try a Kicker 8 that my roommate has, just to see how it sounds in the stock box, after that i am going 12".
