Dude, thats SOOO weird you posted that. I was talking to my buddy about that yesterday.
First off, isn't the Eclipse steering wheel the same diameter as ours...just shaped different?

Secondly and this is what my friend had said, If your in a serious enough accident to deploy a airbag then your ****ed as it is. haha

Just confirmed w/ a dealership. The Ralliart wheel and the Eclipse wheel are the same size. Just shaped different is all. So unless you just want the Eclipse wheel for looks and a slightly LARGER grip then its pointless.

Not to get off topic, I like the wheel on my 1st gen. Eclipse. Even though it's factory, it's designed like an aftermarket wheel. I guess airbags were rare in 1991. It's also thin, not bulky, perfect for gripping.

I can't stand the RA steering wheel :

A. the damn horn is so small it's a really stupid design.
B. it's stupid 4 points

I'm thinking save up and get the evo steering wheel but it's so expensive
maybe I'll live with the stock one.

There are lots of Eclipses around so I would call your local wrecking yard. If they don't have one they should have a computer link that enables them to locate one for you at far less than a new one from the dealer would run you. FWIW I had a 3g GT and liked the leather wheel, it was similar in feel to the wheel I had on my BMW.
