Trying to get a quote from Accolade...

'Evenin. I'm having difficulty in my attempt to purchase a part from Accolade. I sent Dave@Accolade a PM 12 days ago and got no response. I emailed them at sales@body-kit.com and was told simply,

Hi Sir sorry we do not ship to CA,
I just want to know for certain if their Evo 8 hood fits on an otherwise stock body (no bumper swap), and if it does, I want to buy it ASAP.

Anyone have any tips as to what I can do? Is there another Accolade rep on these boards I should PM? I'd like to have a new hood installed in two weeks if it's at all possible.

Your "US office and distribution facility" is here in California, but you cannot ship within California? Could I drive to your office and pick it up?

If not, could I have it shipped out of state to a friend, and then have him ship it back to me?

The reason we do not sell in CA at present is because of copiers such as Import Trenz, believe me we have good reason if you pick up a magazine at a store you will see our products that have been copied.. so at this point we will not sell to CA. sorry.

I orderd a gt version 2 body kit for my lancer and when i recieved it the hood was damaged. i have been trying to contact accolade with email's, and no response. When i got the tracking number they gave me a number for Californa, and when i call no one answers. I am about to call visa and have them take care of it.

We are a little understaffed at this point since we have under gone massive expansion into another building.. all the CA members can tell you about our move here... currently phones are being sent to a call messenger system..

Let us remember that we are not to blame for this damage but it is these truck companies.. it is quite an undertaking to ship across the continent in cartons along side steal beams heavy industry equipment and god knows what other items they stuff onboard not to mention their handling.. so please PM me or email me directly. thanks.

Dude that sucks, just sell it, you are losing profit! Cali is gonna be one of the biggest states to buy your body kit since there is are big import car scenes there.

I live in FL, so it's cool with me, but whatever.

dont sell to people in california? WTF?

am i the only one that finds that odd .. ?? there are body kit manufacturers all around the US, not just in cali ... thats a huge area you will be missing out ABK.

are you not selling ANY kits/parts in cali, or just the hood he was referring to?


wow .... thats all i have to say. kinda funny however .. if your so worried about people copying you, make better parts at better prices. it wont matter if they copy you, as you will have the best product with the best price.

just a note .. in my most recent mags of super street and import tuners, I didnt see any lancer kits ... well besides the walker kit and i dont think anyone copied that off you.

don't sell to cali?? Worried about copies? That's funny because cali peoples usually shell out the dough and get the real thing. And, I'm from NYC by the way. Just doesn't seem like a smart business move to me. If companies wanna copy a kit, they will copy it- all they need is a pic, they don't need the thing in front of them. Hmmmmm, starting to question accolades processes now. Especially after hearing about this issue with the cracked hood and no responses on the telephone. odd.

Guys, I think the cessation of CA sales has to do with the pending legal action between Accolade and at least one other manufacturer. I don't think this is by choice -- I'm sure they want to sell to us.

Just to let everyone know, i have emailed dave and have got no response. Also we test fited the hood, and to propperly fit it to the ralliart you must take the front strut bar out cause the hood will not close other wise. Also side skirts do not fit good.
