The other thing that hasn't been mentioned which I've also seen done is re-sleeving the cylinders. Because the cylinder walls are so thin a strong cylinder sleeve is essential to big boost. However at 15 psi this is probably unnecessary.

Im using RRM's stage 1 clutch. That will also work with the AWD conversion.

Mainstuds probably wouldn't be a bad idea, either, if you're looking to push it hard, though I'm really not sure at what point they'd be necessary.

RRM tells me they think the rod bearings will go before the head gasket! Am I right in thinking the 4G69 can use Evo rod bearings?

And also, the 4G69 connecting rods are the same spec as the 4G64 and 2G DSM 4G63 connecting rods. Forged rods have been available for some time now.

that list has proven flawed already, see the cylinder head project thread for more information. starts with valve seals I believe

All those comparisons are made directly from Mitsubishi part numbers. Part numbers are the same for all the components listed. I just looked up the valve seal part number (MD184303) and it fits the CS6A, CS7A, CS7W, D39A, D52A, and D53A also. Mitsu uses the same in all of these vehicles. Perhaps the wrong valve seals were ordered or sent by mistake?

It would be nice if we could use Evo forged con rods. I'll have to research that fully as well as the bearings.

Brian reckons the stock engine can reach 15psi on stock internals, but i dont think RRM have tuned that high because they know at that level something could go wrong without internal modification.

it's a possibility for sure. I have checked neither resource myself.

The Evo connecting rods do fit our Car. Refer here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&highlight=rod

Evo rods and 2nd Gen eclipse turbo rods will do..Or get the $300 forged rod's they sell for the EVO 4g63. Pistons have to be custom as the piston pin in 4g69 is fitted higher closer to the crown to make for the lower block height compared to the 4g64. 4g63 & 4g64 pistons will hit the head on the 4g69.

Ok, so Im going to get the following and rebuild the engine slightly with my AWD conversion later in the year.

RRM Ross Pistons (possibly reduced compression ones)
Eagle or Crower Evo Con Rods
Evo Rod Bearings
Evo Rod Bolts
Evo Head Bolts
Evo Main Bolts?
RRM Head.

Surely then I could run 15psi safely!

I mean Turbo Tech is running 30Psi for 500+ WHP on modified internals!

I would strongly advise to go the route of ARP head studs and main studs for your engine. Very good insurance on any engine .

personally if I had my engine out already I'd take it to a machine shop and have them sleeve the cylinders
