the microtech is a standalone from my reading. it will control directly the injectors and coil packs, which means the ECU doesn't have a say in what happens. I could be wrong though, I only researched this a little for a member on here at one point never been interested in standalone myself, I've always wanted to be able to have the car inspected...

^no inspections here in MN!
Some "lesser" microtechs are just fuel piggys, some are standalone.
OT: I'm interested in this b/c in the kit I'm having built, I'm initially trying to see what's possible with the FIC, but standalone + me unplugging the CEL bulb may be the way I have to go...

Hes using an lt-10 but as he posted before its still to be looked at since it seems that particular one wont work because of the car it was going to be installed beforehand. You are correct about the stock ECU not having a say though.

yeah, I thought it had to be the lt-10(or isn't there an 8?), I am not sure but I remember that I didn't think the piggybacks would work

you mean the lt-10 won't work? also, I thought those units drove different injectors...

Well I'm sorry to say that I've been researching and been told that none of them are going to work crap!!!!

I don't get why the n/a piggy won't work I haven't try it but isn't the same?? if I play a little with the cells value with the wideband like if i was tunning it N/A but this time the fuel mix to 11.8 to 12.8 on WOT would be the same right?? I don't see why it wouldn't work

the n/a piggy wont work because you cant tune timing w/ it...
the turbo piggy does that on map B

so, if you have a n/a piggy you can tune fuel... but you cant retard timing...

as for the microtech....
is an lt10
you can install it fully stang alone OR as a piggy
you can do this by hacking the wires pertaining to ignition and fuel only and leaving the rest to the oem

Well the problem here is that the lt-10 was configured for a Honda. Called the local microtech dealer and the guy pretty much just said it will be useless on the RA. I asked if they could reconfigure but he just said it would be a hassle and does not know if hes able to do it. Not surprisingly he offered a new one that would work but warned that the TPS sensor must be taken out and need a crank sensor from a Talon for the lt-10 to work on the RA.

As far as the timing goes wont the stock ECU conflict with the T-piggy map B?. As in the stock trying to revert to default? i kinda recall reading something about timing conflict

Si sabes algo de como bregar la lt-10 bajo la configuracion que tiene pues ayudarias a evitar tener un pisapapel de $650 porque se jodio el engine management por el momento
