Has anyone out there had a throttle body bore done, or put on a after market billet throttle body?

If so how much HP and TQ do you like it?

From what I have heard, guys seem to think that our bore is large enough. I do not know what exactly the measurment is, but guys generally dont waste any time or money on it.

Pretty sure that nobody has had this done yet.

Wrecked is also right. The stock TB is the optimal size for flow. You won't gain anything by boring it out, unless you are thinking of going with forced induction.

Essential speed out of Canada claims 8-10whp with a 3-4mm TB bore,
thats why I was wondering if any body has had it?

Thanks

hmm....

You would need to find out what other mods their test car had on it when they installed the bigger TB. I can't believe that you'd get 8-10 more hp on a stock RA. But who knows, right?

Read this article:

http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...02/171934.html

it discribes the changes made in the 4g69 compaired tothe 4g63. Read the section on 'ENGINE MODIFICATIONS'. its VERY detailed.

doesnt mention any change so the TB, but there have obviously been some. worth some investigating, but im not paying for the R&D =)

Its pretty pointless boring out your TB unless you bore out the intake manifold also, and thats something you dont wanna take the time to to (VERY VERY TIME CONSUMING). Some of those websites out there just use that 8hp 10tq as advertisement purposes and more than likely you will not get those type of numbers. From my experience with AEM for example when I put a cai on my eclipse, they claimed it made 17hp at the wheels. Alls i can say about that is BULLSIHT. And most of the time, even if you DO get those kind of numbers, your not going to feel anything drastic, especially if its only 8 or so HP. Just throwin in my two cents as usual.

Umm... the engine they compare is the 4G64 not the evo engine. It compares the old galant and eclipse engines since the 4G69 was built from the 4G64

I believe a guy in no cali has bored both intake and throttle body. he has also got close to breaking 13's on the 1/4 mile. I would like to find out more about this and see if it is worth the time. I am saving the money to have a supercharger built i have talked with a shop in the area and they will build the spindle and help with the rest. i want to get the engine bored so when i do get the money saved up I'm ready for it. what do you guys think should i wait and see how the set up works and just save that money too.

I believe a well tuned 4G69 will take over a 4G63, not a problem

I think stock is 55mm but don't quote me and I think I have heard of 60-65 mm bores on other cars but that is up from like 40-45 mm stock. So like everyone else is saying, your not gonna see 10 hp.
