'05 Install of Piggyback ECU?

Has anyone done an install of RRM's piggyback ECU into the 'o5s (ralliart manual)? I just got mine and attempted to put it in. Every wire is the same and in the same spot except for the yellow/black wire that's supposed to be on the bottom left corner of I believe plug 4. Instead, the black/yellow is on the bottom right side, and on the bottom left side is a red/yellow wire that's slightly thicker than the rest.

Do I just match to the pin that matches (so to red/yellow)? Cuz for sure the black/yellow wire doesn't work on the bottom right side....found that out the hard way and I didn't want to screw it up anymore so I just removed it.

please help!!!

Call RRM and talk to Rob, he would be able to tell you. I dont see why they would change the wiring on the 05'. Talk to RRM they can walk you through it.

haha, I hope so, cuz i attempted to start my car today and it wouldn't start. Had to rip everything apart and put it back to stock wiring configuration. Very annoying, but had me worried there.....happy now that it's running back to normal though.

Talk to Rob. The 04's and 05's are identical, but a few people have mentioned that the wiring diagram included with the piggy is a bit off.

It wouldn't be all that hard to include pics in with those instructions showing exactly what wires to splice, etc. I was workin on it with a guy who runs a motorsports shop and puts in chips and ecu's in fairly often but he was just as confused as I was.

You must have gotten the old instructions... the wire you're looking for is the black/yellow in the upper left corner of plug 4. Let me know if you have any further issue's and i'll contact them again about this. It has been corrected but obviously the old file hasn't been deleted like it should be.

Maybe this will help. It's for the '04, but I don't think the '05 would be different. This is the most complete diagram I've seen so far.

You'd think for 500 bucks they'd include a quick connect/disconnect type harness...

maybe if there was one made to date they would... since most manufacturers want about 100 bucks to make them i guess you could pay 600 for the piggy and get one instead of 500 and not.

It would be well worth the exdra money for a quick connect adapter. No hassle, install will take like 30 seconds, and no evidence at all of an ecu install should a dealer try to check when you have it off...
