Piggyback Fuel question
Hey it's cool...I was kinda wondering if you wanted to write something up. When do you think you will be going, one month, two months? I would appreciate your input and I always like seeing when someone does it differently. Do you have it all zeroed out right now?
Thanks!
Joe
Thanks!
Joe
I don't want to do a write up just yet. I wanna make sure everything is right after we tune. I'm just alittle leary cause when I hooked the car up to the engine scanner it was giving a MAP and a MAF reading, like you guys run two sensors or something. I'm 99.9% we have it right, but I want to wait until we tune and we can make sure everything is working good, before I do a write up. And yes all corrections are at 0 right now.
oh yeah.... I'd say it'll probably be a month before we can tune. His weekends are booked for the next couple weeks.

I have always thought their piggyback seems like a lackluster solution, because simply adding premium to the car should at least be 5whp alone.
So simply going from regular to premium WILL NOT add horsepower. The only time premium DOES help power is when the car was designed for it, but is using regular. Example, a turbocharged car reccommends premium, but is using regular. Some extra detonation will make the ECU retard the timing, wrecking performance. Going to the recommended premium will increase power BECAUSE there is less detonation. It all revolves around detonation and the ECU's adjustment to it. Premium has NO MORE energy per gallon than regular, it just resists detonation better.

so in a round-about way both of you are right
